Tomorrow, August 12, we are hosting a Public Safety Seminar and Self Defense Workshop at the Saddleback College Student Services Center at 10am featuring special guests from the Orange County Sheriff’s Department and United Studios of Self Defense to learn best practices and put your self defense skills to the test!

Next Friday, August 18, we are hosting a Senior Resource Fair at the Orange Senior Center from 8-11:30am featuring local vendors on banking, mental health, food security, public safety services, and more! My team will be there as well to answer any casework questions you have.

Next Saturday, August 19, we are hosting a Service Academy Information Session at the Tustin Community Center at the Market Place at 10am featuring representatives from U.S. service academies to share details on the application process and answer questions. Please pass along to any students you know who may be interested in attending a service academy.

This week, I spent a wonderful evening in Mission Viejo for the Pacific Symphony “Symphony in the Cities” program celebrating 35 years of Mission Viejo and its rich history “Under the Sea.” Thank you to City of Mission Viejo and all who made this a memorable community event!

I enjoyed visiting Encompass Health and Biophotas Light Therapy in Tustin. Both of these facilities have state of the art technology and are doing their part to care for our community. It is wonderful to have access to such great care right here in CA-40.

This week, I enjoyed Yorba Linda’s Concert in the Park featuring music from 4 Alarm Band. It was great to see so many familiar CA-40 faces at Hurless Barton Park!

This week, I urged Congress to enact stronger sanctions and export controls following the Biden administration’s Executive Order restricting outbound investment into China.

While I am glad the Biden administration is acting to restrict US investment of critical technologies developed in China, this Executive Order should not be treated as a silver bullet in countering the CCP’s hostility. I will do my part in Congress to conduct oversight, and I am hopeful Congress can pass strong, bipartisan legislation that creates a smart approach to confront Xi Jinping’s regime head on.

My office was proud to recognize Ryan Lutz from Orange with Supervisor Don Wagner and the Orange City Council this week for his bravery in Rome. His video recording helped hold those responsible for vandalizing the Roman Colosseum accountable.

It was a pleasure to meet with Tustin Mayor Austin Lumbard and Tustin City Manager Matthew West to discuss their priorities and concerns for the city. It is an honor to serve Tustin in Congress!

I enjoyed catching up with our district office interns this week before they head back to school to thank them for all their hard work serving CA-40 this summer.

As a wife and sister to veterans, protecting veterans benefits and services is personal to me. That is why I was proud to vote for the PACT Act last year which became law to expand and improve the VA’s ability to provide care to 3.5 million U.S. veterans who were exposed to burn pits and other dangerous toxins during their time of service.  

Team Young got to celebrate the grand re-opening of Pine Tree Park in Tustin! Thank you to the City of Tustin for uplifting the community with new playground equipment and a new mural to keep the city growing.
