I led a bipartisan letter with Rep. Lou Correa to get answers from the Navy on their plan to mitigate the impact of the hangar fire in Tustin and next steps for the former Marine Corps Air Station.

I’ll keep fighting to protect the public health and safety of our CA-40 communities.

My team and I crisscrossed CA-40 throughout Veterans Day weekend to show our gratitude to our veterans and their families. We attended events in Chino Hills, Anaheim Hills, Yorba Linda, Orange, Mission Viejo, and El Toro Memorial Park to come together with our communities and honor those who have answered the call to serve in our nation’s uniform.

As a wife and sister to U.S. Army veterans, supporting those who have served is personal to me. CA-40 is home to nearly 25,000 military veterans, and I will be a loud voice for them and their families in Congress always.

I met with San Bernardino County Fire Division Chief Jim Topoleski before this weeks House Committee on Natural Resources hearing on the Wildfire Technology DEMO Act, my bill to boost wildfire technologies.

I am grateful for our CA-40 first responders and fighting to expand their arsenal of tools to keep us safe.

 

Ahead of President Biden’s meeting this week with Xi Jinping, I wrote an op-ed on how President Biden should not sideline our nation’s values and priorities like we saw Governor Newsom did during his visit to China last month.

The Chinese Communist Party has gotten used to calling the shots, and this must change starting this week. Read my thoughts for Newsweek below.

The Iran regime spent more than $20 billion over the past decade to support terrorist groups.

My bill passed out of Financial Services Committee on a bipartisan vote to ensure an administration cannot waive Iran sanctions if Iran supports international terrorism.

At this week's Natural Resources Hearing I spoke in support of my bill, the Wildfire Technology DEMO Act, which directly improves and boosts technology for combatting wildfires.

I will keep working to get this bipartisan bill across the finish line to ensure our first responders have the resources they need to address wildfires and keep CA-40 communities safe.

Made my week to catch up with 8th graders from St. Mary's School in Aliso Viejo during their class trip to DC about the importance of using your voice and getting involved in your community. I know our future is bright with so many enthusiastic, patriotic CA-40 students leading the way!

I enjoyed catching up with Michelle Murphy from Orange County United Way in my DC office on uplifting our most vulnerable in Orange County and finding solutions to veteran homelessness.

Honored to preside over the House floor this week.

I always pinch myself that a girl like me came to the U.S. from South Korea, put myself through school, had a career, raised a family, and now serves my community in Congress.

I'm fighting every day to protect the American dream.

Mike Andersen led a life of service, serving our country in the U.S. Army and  our CA-40 community through Veteran Air.

My heart is with Mike’s loved ones and the Veteran Air family as we mourn Mike’s passing and honor his legacy.

His impact will not be forgotten.

Awesome way to kick off the day catching up with a constituent from Mission Viejo and National Association of Music Merchants in town promoting musical education opportunities for students in CA-40 and across the nation.

I will always be a champion for educational opportunities and students pursuing their passions.

Amazing tribute to our veterans at Orange Field of Valor! On Veterans Day, 1,776 American flags were displayed to honor all former, KIA, MIA, and deceased veterans and active-duty service members. 

We will never forget those who died or are MIA serving in our nations uniform. We salute you and are forever grateful for your sacrifice!

Team Young recognized the Orange High School Marine Corps JROTC program, which has one of the largest Marine Corps JROTC units in the Western United States. Thank you to Col. Mark M. Tull for your leadership, and happy 248th birthday to the U.S. Marine Corps!

I enjoyed touring Micron’s facility in Virginia this week to learn more about their manufacturing capabilities. I supported the CHIPS and Science Act, which became law last year, to help secure supply chains, boost U.S. innovation, create jobs, and protect our national security.

Team Young joined the Laguna Hills State of the Community to hear annual updates from Mayor Janine Heft and Chamber President Jake Anderson.

I'm proud to represent Laguna Hills in CA-40 and look forward to continuing to work to keep our communities prosperous and safe.

Beijing resorts once again to what it knows best – bullying, coercing, and silencing dissenters to keep their grip on power. I refuse to be intimidated.

Calls for my arrest by a pro-Beijing lawyer for leading the bipartisan, bicameral charge to support Hong Kongers must mean I’m doing something right.

I will keep using my voice to fight for freedom and democracy for those trapped and tortured under the Chinese Communist Party authoritarian regime.
 

The Department of State advises U.S. citizens overseas to exercise increased caution as tensions around the world increase the potential for terrorist attacks, demonstrations, or violent actions against U.S. citizens and interests, the Department of State advises U.S. citizens overseas to exercise increased caution. 

U.S. citizens should:

• Stay alert in locations frequented by tourists.
• Enroll in the Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP) to receive information and alerts and make it easier to locate you in an emergency overseas.
• Follow the Department of State on Facebook and Twitter and visit travel.state.gov.

If you are traveling abroad or are abroad please check the destination warning levels travel.state.gov, and be sure to register for the STEP program even if you are abroad. The 71/91 Interchange Project has several closures scheduled in Corona this fall. The closures are needed to allow crews to safely construct temporary 30-foot-tall support structures extending the entire width 91. More than 200 beams will be placed to support the new connector on top of a tunnel-like structure over the 91. Each beam will measure approximately 120 feet long and weigh 18 tons.

All eastbound 91 lanes will be closed at night Monday through Wednesday from Green River Rd. to Serfas Club Dr. in Corona starting on Monday, October 16 from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. The eastbound 91 Green River Rd. on-ramp will also be closed nightly starting at 10 p.m. to 6 a.m., and the eastbound 91 Express Lanes in Riverside County will be closed from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. The eastbound 91 Monday to Wednesday weeknight closures will continue through November 21.
