I was so honored to meet and recognize Vietnam veteran and retired LA County Sheriff Commander Dave Fender from Chino Hills and his wife Patty this week.

Thank you for your service, sacrifice, and heroism to our community and nation. We are forever grateful!

This week, my team and I had a productive maternity care roundtable with MemorialCare leaders at MemorialCare Saddleback Medical Center in Laguna Hills. As co-chair of the Maternity Care Caucus, I'm working on solutions to grow our maternal health workforce and expand access to quality care.

Thank you to Calvary Chapel East Anaheim for hosting an informative Human Trafficking Awareness Seminar with the Orange County Human Trafficking Taskforce. I look forward to working together to spread awareness on human trafficking and find solutions to combat it and keep us safe.

Thank you to Orange County Chief Brian Fennessy for meeting with me at my office this week in Anaheim Hills! Great to discuss my bipartisan bills to improve communications and technologies to support CA-40 firefighters.

Congratulations to the Tierney Center for Veteran Services on the grand opening of the Great Room in Tustin! This newly unveiled collaborative space will allow veterans and veteran-serving organizations to come together and support our Orange County veteran community.

Humbled to receive Mothers Against Drunk Driving's Legislative Hero Award for my work on safe driving issues. As a mother of four and grandma of two, I’m working in Congress to ensure that our families and communities are safe.

I held a Financial Literacy Roundtable in my Anaheim Hills office with CA-40 financial literacy leaders this week on how we can work together to give our communities the tools they need to take control of their finances, grow their wealth, and make their American dream a reality.

Congratulations to Audrey Sanders from Trabuco Canyon for earning the Congressional Award Bronze Medal after completing 100 hours of community service, 50 hours of personal development, 50 hours of physical fitness, and a 2-day expedition trip. Way to go, Audrey!

Awesome to catch up with Laguna Hills small business owners and professionals at yesterday's Legislative Lunch. In Congress, I’m working to expand access to capital for entrepreneurs to open their doors, keep employees on payroll, and achieve their dream.

Thank you to Camino Health Center in Lake Forest for giving me a tour of your WIC facility and for all you do to provide nutrition to women and their children. I’m working as Maternity Care Caucus co-chair to ensure moms and their babies have resources they need.

Team Young celebrated the opening of St. Joseph’s Helen Caloggero Women’s and Family Center, which will provide maternity care services, support women’s pregnancy, childbirth, and post-delivery care, and unite medical offices and outpatient perinatal services under one roof in Orange.

Wishing our Jewish community in CA-40, across the nation, and around the world a happy Passover! I hope you have a safe, peaceful, and joyful celebration.

As we see antisemitism and hate in our communities, standing with our Jewish community is more important than ever.

This Monday, we celebrated Earth Day! Our community is filled with beautiful natural wonders, from Chino Hills State Park, Weir Canyon Trail to Saddleback Mountain and Cleveland National Forest.

I appreciate the nature around us and am committed to protecting it.

Delivering for CA-40 is my top priority.

In Congress, I secured resources through the FY24 appropriations packages for vital projects in CA-40 that protect public health, support law enforcement, and keep our communities safe.

My office is seeing an increase in casework requests related to cybercrimes. As we see hackers use sophisticated tactics to take your personal information, please remain vigilant and be careful of suspicious links, calls, and messages. If something seems suspect, trust your instinct and do not click.

Are you traveling planning travel for this year? Stop what you’re doing and check your passport!  


Processing times are now 6-8 weeks (routine) or 2-3 weeks (expedited, not incl. shipping). Start your renewal or application at travel.state.gov/passport.

Passport processing times are the fastest they’ve been since March 2020. Take advantage and apply or renew now so that you’re ready for international travel in the new year. 

Travel Tip -- Many countries require your passport to be valid for at least six months after your departure. Look up your destination’s entry requirements at travel.state.gov/destination and check your passport expiration date before booking flights.

Travelers are encouraged to wait to book international travel until a valid passport is physically in hand, apply for a new or renewed passport 9 months prior to travel, and ensure that their passport doesn’t expire within 6 months of their international travel dates.

If your pending application was filed with routine service and you have upcoming travel, you may benefit from upgrading to expedited service. Please dial (877) 487-2778 to upgrade to expedited service and shipping.

U.S. citizens should:

  • Stay alert in locations frequented by tourists.
  • Enroll in the Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP) to receive information and alerts and make it easier to locate you in an emergency overseas.
  • Follow the Department of State on Facebook and Twitter and visit travel.state.gov.

If you are traveling abroad or are abroad please check the destination warning levels travel.state.gov, and be sure to register for the STEP program even if you are abroad.
