News from Congresswoman Kim

Dear Friend,

As we celebrate Independence Day, we come together to honor the signing of the Declaration of Independence 248 years ago, pay tribute to the stars and stripes, and reflect on the values our nation represents.

This morning as I get ready to celebrate July 4th at events across California’s 40th Congressional District, I reflect on the sacrifices my family made, the accomplishments this country has allowed people like me to achieve, and the need to fight to keep the promise of America remains alive for my kids and grandkids – and yours.

My story is not unique – it's the story of so many Americans from all walks of life who have worked hard and been empowered to seize opportunities, enjoy the freedoms this great experiment called America provides, and pay it forward for the next generation.

However, I fear misguided policies in California and Washington D.C. are making the American dream out of reach. Families are hurting from rising prices of everything from the food on our tables to the gas in our cars. We see a record crisis at our Southern border leading to rising fentanyl deaths at home, and we face increased organize retail crime and other public safety threats in our communities.

Now more than ever, America needs strong, safe, and prosperous communities. People are sick of the partisan gridlock and want common sense, and I promise you that I will continue to work around the clock to break through the gridlock and deliver results for our communities.

Despite these challenges, I remain hopeful for our nation’s future. Why? Because I and so many other proud Americans have been able to live our American Dream.

This July 4th, let us all commit to restoring it. I’ll continue doing my part to address these pressing issues and keep the American Dream alive for future generations.

Happy 4th, and I look forward to celebrating with you at events across CA-40 today!
