News from Representative Larson

Dear Friends,

This week I had the opportunity to visit with some of our local community leaders around our district. Here are some highlights from the week:

I visited with Hartford’s Mothers United Against Violence to announce that we secured $300,000 in funding for them. This funding will be used for their Victim Impact Project to support families impacted by the gun violence epidemic. I was honored to join Mayor Bronin and Senators Murphy and Blumenthal to hear their stories and promote their leadership.

I went to TLD America in Windsor, which manufactures ground support equipment for the F-35 enterprise that supports over 6,000 jobs in CT-01. It was a pleasure to meet with their employees and learn about their work, including developing equipment to help airlines transition away from fossil fuels.

Mayor Don Trinks and CT State Rep. Jane Garibay joined me to visit Windsor small businesses and nonprofits that received funds from the American Rescue Plan (ARP) COVID relief bill. I proudly voted for the ARP and am happy to see just how much good this legislation is doing for our local communities.

I visited Kaman in Bloomfield to learn more about their new K-MAX Autonomous Logistics System, which will fill critical needs for both our military and firefighters. I led the effort in Washington to secure $7 million in new funding for these helicopters, creating manufacturing jobs right here at home.
