News from Representative Larson

Dear Friends,

Yesterday, another mass shooting devastated a community in our country. 19 students and two teachers were killed at the hands of a gunman in Uvalde, Texas. My heart goes out to the students and families whose lives have been forever changed.

Alongside Governor Lamont, survivors of gun violence, and local leaders, I spoke at the State Capitol this morning to call on the Senate to take action to save lives. You can watch my remarks below.

This tragedy hits close to home nearly a decade after Connecticut lost 26 lives to gun violence at Sandy Hook Elementary. We have heard from mothers, survivors, and advocates. Enough is enough. We need action.

I am proud to have voted in the House of Representatives to address gun violence and save lives. These bills await action in the Senate, along with over 400 other House-passed pieces of legislation. It’s time to end the Senate filibuster, that stands in the way of these bills becoming law, to make the progress our country desperately needs.
