News from Representative Larson

Dear Friends,

Medicare Open Enrollment ends this Saturday, December 7th. Seniors can visit Medicare.gov or call 1-800-633-4227 to shop for, compare, and enroll in a plan for 2025. I worked with my Democratic colleagues in Congress to pass the Inflation Reduction Act. Thanks to this law, Medicare prescription drug plans for next year will include:

  • A $35/month cap on insulin co-pays
  • Recommended vaccines at no cost, including shingles and COVID-19
  • A $2,000 cap on annual out-of-pocket drug costs
  • Extra Help with prescriptions for seniors earning less than $23,000 per year

Connecticut residents, including DACA recipients, can shop for a plan on the Access Health CT exchange. If you enroll in coverage by December 15th, it will begin on January 1st. If you enroll between December 16, 2024, and January 15, 2025, your coverage will begin on February 1st. Visit AccessHealthCT.com or call 1-855-805-4325 for assistance. You can also visit an in-person enrollment fair this month being held across the state, including:

  • West Hartford: Thursday, December 5 at West Hartford Town Hall, located at 50 South Main Street, from 5 PM to 8 PM.
  • Manchester: Saturday, December 14 at Manchester Community Rec Center, located at 78 North Main Street, from 10 AM to 2 PM.

Since we passed the Affordable Care Act, 50 million Americans have enrolled in coverage, bringing our nation’s uninsured rate to a record low. I will continue to work in Congress to lower health care costs so everyone can access the care they need.

If you have questions or need help with a federal agency issue, call my East Hartford Office at 860-278-8888. To follow what I’m working on both in Washington and in Connecticut, visit my Facebook page, follow me on Twitter, or follow me on Instagram.
