Dear Friends,
I have continued to hear from constituents who are concerned about the Trump Administration and their actions. I have been holding town hall meetings to hear your questions and feedback. This week, I hosted a virtual town hall with more than 600 of you on Tuesday and met with more than 150 constituents in Newington on Thursday. You can view the virtual town hall here.

We've heard that Elon Musk and his ‘DOGE’ now have their sights set on beneficiary data at the Social Security Administration (SSA). This week, Acting SSA Commissioner Michelle King resigned and was replaced by a ‘DOGE’ ally after she refused to succumb to their demands to access this highly sensitive and confidential information. It should alarm all Americans that President Trump is willing to push out anyone who does not show strict obedience to an unelected, unaccountable billionaire. As Ranking Member of the Subcommittee on Social Security, I have requested an immediate hearing to investigate these developments.
House Republicans plan on bringing their budget to a full House vote this week. Their plan calls for new tax cuts for the wealthy & massive cuts to health care and food assistance for kids, seniors, and veterans. In Connecticut’s First District alone, 135,000 residents who rely on their Husky coverage through Medicaid and 41,000 SNAP beneficiaries could see their benefits reduced or eliminated. House Democrats are united against this budget. If just a few Republicans join us, we can defeat this plan. I want to hear from you. Would you or a loved one be impacted by cuts to these programs? Share your story HERE.
