The Escalating War In Ukraine
Dear Neighbor,
Our prayers continue to be with Ukraine as we learn more about Putin's horrifying attack on this sovereign nation Thursday. We are united against Russia's brazen assault and know just how important it is for Ukrainians to defend their God-given right to freedom. You can read my full statement below.
I ask you to join me in praying for Ukraine and the safety of their people. As Americans, we know how important self-determination and freedom truly are and we stand behind Ukraine and its citizens in their pursuit of self-defense. I expect more news throughout the weekend and will do my best to keep constituents apprised of the latest developments from Washington, D.C. as this devastating crisis continues.
With all that's happening this Congress, it is my greatest honor to represent you and hear from you about the issues that matter most. You can read below about what we've been up to this week, and as always, you can stay up to date with us here, on our website, and on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube.

Praying For Peace In Ukraine & Biden's Weak Response To Russia
_0.png)
On Thursday, I joined my colleagues and millions of Americans in praying for peace in Ukraine and an immediate end to Russia’s aggression.
The news out of Ukraine as Russia moves forward with an unprovoked, unjustified invasion of a sovereign nation is sickening. Vladimir Putin and his Russian cronies have chosen an extreme, aggressive, unnecessary path and will pay a significant price for their actions, including crippling economic and diplomatic sanctions.
Joe Biden has projected weakness on the world stage since his first day in office. In a time when words matter most, he has fumbled horribly. Projecting a strong America First agenda at home allows us to carry a heavy stick abroad, without ever needing combat boots on the ground overseas. Now more than ever, this administration must take heed of the groundwork the previous one laid and course correct immediately.
As Americans, we know that self-determination and liberty are at the core of what it means to be free. I pray for Ukraine and their people’s God-given right to stand up for their freedom in the face of Vladimir Putin’s brazen and unacceptable assault. |

Demanding The NPRC Fully Reopen
.png)
This week, I joined Congressman Cliff Bentz, Congressman Fred Keller, Congressman Mike Bost, and dozens of my other colleagues in calling for the reopening of the National Personnel Records Center (NPRC). The National Archives and Records Administration has been intermittently since March 2020, making it virtually impossible for our veterans and others to get the records they need.
The fact that processing times at the NPRC may take up to 18 months is not only unacceptable, but also an insult to every man and woman who sacrificed everything to protect our nation. This is why we need to direct the NPRC to fully reopen and report to Congress on its efforts to clear out its backlog of records requests. |

Addressing The IRS Backlog In Preparation For Tax Filing Season

The IRS is experiencing an extreme backlog as a result of a reduced workforce due to COVID-19. As of December 23, 2021, the IRS continues to have a backlog of six million Forms 1040, two million Forms 941, and 2.3 million amended individual tax returns.
Most recently, I joined hundreds of my colleagues on both sides of the aisle on insisting the Treasury Department improve operations, relieve the backlog, and make progress on getting back to normal. With tax filing season approaching and COVID-19 restrictions being eased around the nation, the federal government needs to get back to work, relieve this backlog, and return millions of hardworking Americans' taxpayer dollars. |

Celebrating Black History Month

This month, we're celebrating Black History Month, recognizing Josiah T. Walls, the first black man to serve Florida and Florida's Third in Congress. Congressman Walls served three terms in Congress from 1871 to 1876 and was one of the first black men in Congress during Reconstruction, and the first black person to be elected to Congress from the Sunshine State. Today and every day, we're grateful for his service and contributions to Congress and the state of Florida, and are so proud he's from North Central Florida. |

Attending The Annual Florida Peanut Federation Membership Meeting

Last weekend, my team caught up with the Florida Peanut Federation for their annual membership meeting in Lake City. Peanuts are such an important part of Florida's agricultural profile, and through successful education, promotion, and marketing, the Florida Peanut Federation strives to improve and develop a thriving and sustainable peanut industry. Their work in the industry has helped to ensure that all of Florida’s peanut producers and allied partners have the most opportunities for success. I'm always proud to stand with our peanut farmers in Florida's Third Congressional District and across the state.

Recognizing National FFA Week

With the situation in Ukraine escalating this week, it has only reinforced the importance of food and energy security for our national security. During National Future Farmers of America Week, we're grateful for all of our amazing youth working hard to better the future of agriculture. With FFA being the premier youth organization in the U.S. for leadership and careers in the science, business, and technology of agriculture, the achievements of these young members and their passion for the food and energy industries is needed now more than ever. Thank you to the members of FFA for all that you do, and especially those from Florida's Third! |

Supporting The Gainesville Heart Ball

With this month being American Heart Month/Heart Health Month, I had the opportunity to attend the Gainesville Heart Ball hosted by the American Heart Association. The month of February encourages us to refocus on cardiovascular health and reduce our risk factors for heart disease and other illnesses. With heart disease being the leading cause of death for American women, I'm grateful to this organization for raising awareness about what we can all do to stay happy and healthy! |

World leaders have condemned Russia’s invasion of Ukraine as "barbaric" and quickly slapped heavy sanctions on the Russian economy, President Vladimir Putin’s inner circle and many of the country’s oligarchs. President Joe Biden says Putin "and his country will bear the consequences." Following the attacks, Florida and Georgia lawmakers forcefully weighed in.

Representative Kat Cammack (R-Fl.) discusses with The New American an array of key topics that the mainstream media is not covering, from a recent Democrat bill that facilitates Communist China while claiming to do the opposite to the continued hypocrisy by progressives wanting to defund the police and the U.S. Border Patrol while simultaneity justifying private armed security to protect themselves. |
