Demanding Answers On Afghanistan, Student Loan Forgiveness & More

Dear Neighbor,

In the year following the Biden administration's disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan, we've gotten no answers about how this botched military response transpired. Secretary Austin and Secretary Blinken must be held accountable for their recklessness in how the withdrawal was handled, and we need transparency for both the American people and the loved ones of the thirteen servicemembers who lost their lives defending our nation overseas.

Additionally, Democrats have been silent following Biden's announcement to forgive $300 billion in student debt, despite the fact that Nancy Pelosi herself confirmed the executive branch does not have the power to do so. This administration doesn't care about giving the American people answers. Republicans have a plan to stop the nonsense come January, and we're ready to fight back.

With all that's happening this Congress, it is my greatest honor to represent you and hear from you about the issues that matter most. You can read below about what we've been up to this week, and as always, you can stay up to date with us here, on our website, and on TwitterFacebookInstagram, and YouTube.

This week, we celebrated 106 years of the Marine Corps Reserves! Reserve Marines support their Corps in major combat assignments, humanitarian efforts, and national emergencies. Nancy Pelosi's Silence On Student Debt Forgiveness

Image

Back in 2021, Speaker Pelosi said the president does not have the power to forgive debts. After the administration's announcement about student loan forgiveness, Speaker Pelosi's been silent. The president is desperate for a political win and it's time for Democrats to step up and take their own words to heart. I joined Congressman Jody Hice and dozens of my colleagues in a letter demanding Speaker Pelosi own up to what she said. You can read the full text of the letter here.

No taxpayer should bear the burden of someone else’s financial obligations. Students who decide to invest in their education via federal loans do so voluntarily, and it is their sole responsibility to pay that money back. You can read my latest opinion piece in the Hill below.

Stopping The Threat Of Chinese Interference In Our Elections

Image

Tik Tok, the popular, Chinese-owned social media and video platform, has just unveiled an "Elections Center" within their app that will put detailed voter profiles in the hands of the Chinese Communist Party. This center is highly dangerous to our national security, as it would allow China and likely other U.S. adversaries to access voter data from users of the platform.

I joined my colleagues from the Republican Study Committee in a letter to the Director of National Intelligence’s Election Threat Executive addressing this "Elections Center." China has no place interfering in our elections, and we must take swift action against this extremely dangerous move from one of the United States’ most notable enemies.

Demanding Accountability From The Biden Administration On The Afghanistan Withdrawal

Image

The disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan is one that begs many questions, and yet, we’ve gotten no answers from this administration. 13 American servicemembers were tragically lost, the Taliban seized control of Kabul, and billions of dollars of U.S. military equipment fell into the hands of one of our biggest adversaries. This administration is reckless, and the Biden regime must be held responsible for one of the most devastating and fatal military failures in recent memory.

I joined my colleague Rep. Markwayne Mullin and dozens of others in a letter demanding accountability from Secretary Austin and Secretary Blinken on this travesty. These answers are one year overdue; it’s time for transparency.

Honoring Eagle Scouts From Ocala For Their Philanthropic Work In The Community

Image

This past weekend in Ocala, Team Kat's very own Dave honored two young men who have achieved tremendous goals working toward their Eagle Scout ranks. Logan Catalanotto and John C. Bonner were honored at their Eagle Scout Court of Honor where they received commendations from the community and from our office, including their names and good deeds in the Congressional Record.

These two young men, as members of Troop 72, achieved 62 collective merit badges on their way to Eagle Scouts, with John building a large movable snake habitat at Silver Springs State Park and Logan renovating the entire state flag complex at the Marion County Veterans Park.

We're so proud to have John and Logan in Florida's Third Congressional District, and we can't wait to see all the amazing things they'll do going forward.

Congresswoman Kat Cammack: Supersized IRS, Minimized Wallets (Florida Daily)

Opinion Piece — Haven’t Americans suffered enough at the hands of the Biden administration? Clearly, Democrats didn’t think so as they’re not done waging war on the middle class.

Kat Cammack Signs Letter Condemning Biden Admin For Afghanistan Withdrawal (The Floridian Press)

As the United States reckons with the recent 1-year anniversary of the botched withdrawal from Afghanistan, many Republicans have called out President Joe Biden (D) for his lack of acknowledgement of the event in which 13 U.S. Service Members lost their lives.
