Recovery & Relief Updates In Florida Following Hurricane Ian
Dear Neighbor,
As we start to uncover the true impact of Hurricane Ian, Floridians need relief now more than ever. This week, Biden visited Florida to meet with Governor DeSantis and discuss aid for the state. During this time, it is imperative that we set politics aside and focus on what matters most—helping those whose lives have been drastically altered by this catastrophic storm.
We're doing all we can to provide assistance for folks whose homes and businesses were damaged by Hurricane Ian. You can learn more about relief offered through FEMA and the Small Business Administration on our website, as well as information about volunteer efforts. During this crucial time, Floridians must stand by each other and help those in need.
With all that's happening this Congress, it is my greatest honor to represent you and hear from you about the issues that matter most. You can read below about what we've been up to this week, and as always, you can stay up to date with us here, on our website, and on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube.
In Liberty,
Congresswoman Kat Cammack Proudly Serving Florida's Third Congressional District |

Florida Damage Rises As Hurricane Recovery Efforts Persist

Earlier this week, I joined Newsmax to discuss recovery efforts in Florida and Hurricane Ian's aftermath. We still have active search and rescue operations taking place on the ground where Biden visited this week. It's important to take care of one another as we begin the long road to recovery. |

Providing Information On FEMA Assistance Following Hurricane Ian

As the Sunshine State recovers from Hurricane Ian, we're doing all we can to make sure that our neighbors have all the resources necessary to get back on their feet. The important links to learn more about eligibility and how to apply are on our website and listed below:

Urging Supplemental Emergency Funding From The House Appropriations Committee

Yesterday, I joined Congressman Greg Steube and my colleagues from the Florida Delegation in sending a letter to the leadership of the U.S. House of Representatives Appropriations Committee urging prioritization of an emergency supplemental appropriations package solely for Hurricane Ian recovery. Hurricane Ian was one of the most catastrophic and deadly hurricanes to make landfall in Florida in the last 50 years, leaving many communities without basic needs, such as food, water, power, and shelter. |

Democrats Playing Politics With Hurricane Aid

On Tuesday, I joined Harris Faulkner to discuss the critical role our law enforcement and first responders have in mitigating damage and enforcing safety following Hurricane Ian. We need to support our law enforcement officers and fully fund them. It's absolutely unacceptable for our men and women in blue to be shown such disrespect. |

Introducing The House Aquaculture Caucus

Yesterday, I joined Rep. Steven Palazzo, Rep. Jimmy Panetta, and Rep. Ed Case in launching the Bipartisan Aquaculture Caucus! We will serve as the inaugural co-chairs for the caucus to educate and share the importance of domestic aquaculture in the U.S.
Florida's waters are home to dozens of sophisticated aquaculture operations that increase our food security and ensure we take advantage of sustainable opportunities in our own waters. |

Slamming Kamala Harris' "Equity" Response On Hurricane Aid

On Wednesday, I caught up with Stu Varney yesterday to preview Biden's visit to Florida following Hurricane Ian. Even though Kamala Harris said aid would be offered based on which box you check, we know for certain that hurricane aid will go to those in need. Governor DeSantis and his team have been working hard to help Florida communities at the beginning of their recovery after last week's storm, and we should all be proud to have such an incredible leader to show the Biden camp how it's done. |

Honoring Breast Cancer Awareness Month During October

October marks the start of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, a time to recognize women around the country who have fought, and who are currently fighting, breast cancer. Each year, more than 200,000 women are diagnosed with breast cancer. It was just recently that Florida’s First Lady, Casey DeSantis, courageously fought and won her battle with breast cancer.
Throughout the month of October, I hope you’ll join me in praying for all those who have been affected by breast cancer—both the women who have been diagnosed and their loved ones who help them battle this disease. |

Touring Damage From Hurricane Ian With Local Officials In Putnam County

I had the chance to tour the damage from Hurricane Ian with local officials in Putnam County earlier this week. While Florida's Third thankfully didn't sustain as much damage as our neighbors in southwest Florida, flooding remains a top concern for folks along the St. Johns River.
We're doing all we can to provide assistance for folks whose homes and businesses were damaged by Hurricane Ian, and you can learn more about relief offered through FEMA and the Small Business Administration on our website at the button below. |

Rep. Kat Cammack said Wednesday on Newsmax, before President Joe Biden's visit to her state of Florida, that she expects "there will be nothing but professionalism across the board" between him and GOP Gov. Ron DeSantis, but also said the visit could backfire on Biden if he tries to insert politics into his appearance.
