If Mayorkas Doesn't Resign, House Republicans Will Take Action

Dear Neighbor,

Last week, I was in El Paso, Texas with my Republican colleagues to address the ongoing border crisis. Our agents have been working around the clock, putting their lives on the line as the migrant surge has continually worsened under this administration. Biden and Mayorkas have been reckless, careless, and completely negligent in securing our borders and protecting our law enforcement from harm's way.

To all our CBP agents and law enforcement officers who have been on the front lines of this crisis, we see you and we hear you. And when Republicans are in the majority, we will secure the border. That’s our Commitment to America.

With all that's happening this Congress, it is my greatest honor to represent you and hear from you about the issues that matter most. You can read below about what we've been up to this week, and as always, you can stay up to date with us h ere, on our website, and on TwitterFacebookInstagram, and YouTube.

Thanking Border Patrol Agents In El Paso Amid Worsening Border Crisis

Image

At our southern border trip last week, I joined a small group of colleagues to express our gratitude for the hard work of our Border Patrol agents amid this impossible crisis the Biden administration has created. While Joe, Kamala, and Mayorkas are nowhere to be found, we continue to show up.

Thank you to the incredible agents and their families for the extraordinary bravery and sacrifices displayed each and every day. You have a grateful nation behind you, even when the White House is absent.

Amending House Rules For The 118th Congress

Image

In 2011, Congress passed a bill that included a government program that cost my family our home. The bill included so many things and lawmakers were given so little time to read it that they didn’t have any idea what they were actually voting for.

This week, I testified during the Rules Committee hearing about amending the House rules in the 118th Congress. When Republicans take back the majority in January, members must have AT LEAST 72 hours to sit down and read through a bill before it comes to the Floor for a vote. Our job as legislators is to legislate, and under no circumstance should we make such profound decisions on behalf of the American people before reading bills in their entirety.

Poll Results Reveal How Americans Feel About Holiday Inflation

Image

This week's poll results from our telephone town hall are in, and the numbers don’t lie. Over 30 percent of those surveyed spent $100 more on Thanksgiving festivities this year compared to last, and over two-thirds are concerned about how they’re going to afford Christmas gifts due to inflation.

In the new House Republican majority, my colleagues and I are going to tackle inflation and bring back common sense, conservative, fiscal policy for Americans everywhere. No one should have to worry about affording gifts for loved ones, especially during this special season of giving.

Calling For Mayorkas' Resignation Following Destruction Of Border Security

Image

Last week, I joined Mornings With Maria to recap my recent trip to El Paso, Texas. This border crisis is unlike anything we’ve experienced in our nation’s history, and this administration is the sole perpetrator. Biden and DHS Secretary Mayorkas have continually deflected and refused to accept any responsibility for the mass destruction of our national security that they engineered.

Make no mistake—if they won’t hold themselves accountable, Republicans will.

Honoring FL03 Veteran With Congressional Medal For Service In World War II

Image

Last week, we honored one very special man in Florida's Third, Mr. Paul Blow. Mr. Blow served as a Merchant Marine during World War II—one of nearly 250,000 who served with the U.S. Military and delivered supplies and personnel by ship to the nations engulfed in the war.

Mr. Blow received the Congressional Gold Medal for his service during this time, along with a flag flown over the U.S. Capitol in his honor, and an insertion into the Congressional Record. We celebrated this big moment with his family and friends, recognizing his great service to our nation more than 70 years ago. Please join me in thanking Mr. Blow for his bravery and commitment to freedom!

If you or a veteran you know is missing service records, decorations, or honors from the U.S. Military, contact our office at 352-505-0838. Many thanks to our hardworking veterans team for their work to present Mr. Blow's deserved honors.

Meeting With UF Agriculture Scientists To Discuss Food Security & Nutrition

Image

This week, I joined the UF/IFAS and the Farm Journal Foundation in Gainesville for a roundtable discussion on the necessary and sustainable solutions our agricultural innovations present for global food insecurity. UF/IFAS leaders invest in developing the cutting edge resources that support the folks who feed, clothe, and fuel our nation.

I'm grateful to them for taking the time to share their latest work with me as we keep working to make our agricultural industries strong in Florida.
