| Reacting To Biden's State Of The Union Address & Combating The CCP's Ties To Big Tech |
|
|
Biden's State of the Union Address this week was just what Republicans predicted— disappointing and factually wrong. Rather than addressing the crises that are impacting everyday Americans, like the economy, the border, gas prices, and others, he chose to deflect and play the blame game. Meanwhile, House Republicans are working to bring real solutions to the table.
Additionally, my bill, the CAUTION Act, passed out of the Energy and Commerce Committee's Subcommittee on Innovation, Data, and Commerce this week. The bill is a critical piece of legislation that warns against the dangers of applications with ties to the CCP, and will head to a full Energy and Commerce Committee markup later this Congress. You can learn more about the CAUTION Act below.
With all that's happening this Congress, it is my greatest honor to represent you and hear from you about the issues that matter most. You can read below about what we've been up to this week, and as always, you can stay updated with us here, on our website, and on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube. |

Congresswoman Kat Cammack's Bill Passes Out Of E&C Subcommittee On Innovation, Data & Commerce

This week, I was proud to see my bill, the CAUTION Act, pass out of the E&C Subcommittee on Innovation, Data, and Commerce. The CAUTION Act is a critical piece of legislation that warns against the dangers of applications with ties to the CCP. Those, including TikTok, that have been banned on U.S. government devices represent real threats, and users should be advised of the risks involved.
House Republicans are delivering on their promise to hold the CCP and Big Tech accountable.

Rep. Cammack BLASTS Witnesses During First Select Subcommittee Hearing On The Weaponization Of The Federal Government

Apparently when Democrats conduct oversight, they're hailed as heroes, but when Republicans do it, we're labeled "conspiracy theorists."
The abuses of the federal government against its own citizens from warrantless data collection to parents labeled as "domestic terrorists" and everything in between is cause for concern. We, as Republicans, are laser-focused on providing real and crucial oversight to expose these abuses and make sure they never happen again.
Yesterday was the first hearing of the Select Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government, and Republicans are just getting started. Watch the full clip by clicking on the image above. |

Questioning NIH Director Dr. Tabak On Feds' Response To COVID-19

This week, I asked NIH Director Dr. Tabak critical questions about the federal government's response to the COVID-19 pandemic during an Oversight & Investigations Subcommittee hearing. Just as Congress has oversight responsibilities, NIH Director Dr. Tabak should have no problem clearing his schedule to appear before our committee. There are far too many unanswered questions about the federal government's response to COVID-19, and the American people deserve an explanation.

Hearing On American Energy Expansion & National Security

On Tuesday, my bill, H.R. 750—the "Chinese-owned Applications Using The Information of Our Nation Act of 2023" (CAUTION Act)—passed out of the House Committee on Energy and Commerce's Subcommittee on Innovation, Data, and Commerce. The bill is a critical piece of legislation that warns against the dangers of applications with ties to the CCP, and will head to a full Energy and Commerce Committee markup later this Congress.

Giving U.S. Captiol Tour To Leaders From Santa Fe College

On Monday night, my husband Matt and I gave a personal tour of the US Capitol to Dr. Paul Broadie II and Mr. Robert Woody, President and Trustee of Santa Fe College in Gainesville! Santa Fe College serves Alachua and Bradford Counties as a recognized institution of higher learning in Florida, and sends many students to the University of Florida later in their careers. My husband Matt is a proud Santa Fe College grad, so this was extra special! |

Announcing Ocala's Assistance To Firefighters Grant (AFG) Award

Our first responders are our heroes, and ensuring they have the proper equipment and training they need to do their jobs is essential to keeping our communities safe. This week, we announced the City of Ocala Municipal Government/Ocala Fire Rescue received an Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG) award to keep up the good work they've done to support our community.
The funds will go toward Advanced Life Support (ALS) materials, including oxygen and cardiac function monitors. As the wife of a firefighter/paramedic myself, I can think of no more deserving a crew than our top-notch first responders.

Recapping Biden's Record On Social Security Following His FALSE Claims During State Of The Union

Following Biden's false claims that Republicans want to cut Social Security and other federal programs, I joined Fox Business to review Biden's record on said programs during his time as a senator in the '70s. This is just another example of Democrats' hypocrisy and deflection from the issues that Americans really care about. Not so lucky for them, Republicans have the receipts to prove their lies wrong.

Reacting To Biden's State Of The Union Address

Just as predicted, Biden’s State of the Union Address Tuesday night was disappointing and just factually wrong. Rather than addressing the crises that are impacting everyday Americans—the border, the economy, crime, our energy crisis, and the negligence of his administration to take any real action, to name a few—he chose to deflect and play the blame game. House Republicans are bringing real solutions to the table.
I joined NTD following his address to discuss. Watch the full clip by clicking on the image above. |

More 'Kat In The News' |
The FBI isn't the only rotten agency in the Biden administration, says Rep. Kat Cammack, R-Fla. "Today in Energy and Commerce Committee in an oversight hearing I presented an e-mail from [former] NIH Director Francis Collins to CDC Director Anthony Fauci with the now-current NIH director cc'd on it stating that they needed to have a quick and devastating takedown of the scientists and doctors who were publishing information contrary to the official CDC position. "And of course that same language showed up several months later in emails from the Biden administration to Twitter executives," Cammack told Newsmax's "Spicer & Co." on Thursday.

The Biden administration recently announced it's considering declaring a "public health emergency" on abortion in the wake of the Supreme Court's Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization ruling in June that overturned Roe v. Wade. "This stupidity never ends with this administration," Rep. Kat Cammack, R-Fla., told The Daily Signal when asked about the possible "public health emergency." "I'm sorry. That is just absolutely ridiculous," the Florida lawmaker said.

Ocala Fire Rescue was selected as the recipient of the Assistance To Firefighters grant by the Federal Emergency Management Agency. The department is set to receive over $380,000 to buy new equipment and improve safety. Florida Rep. Kat Cammack announced the grant on Wednesday. "I'm so excited for our brave men and women in Ocala to have the equipment necessary to help them do their jobs more safely and effectively," said Cammack. "Our first responders are heroes and it’s imperative that we ensure they stay safe while serving our communities."
