House Agriculture Committee Holds 2023 Farm Bill Listening Session In Waco, Texas

This week, I visited Waco, Texas with my colleagues on the House Agriculture Committee for a Farm Bill Listening Session. Farmers, ranchers, producers, and agribusiness owners came to voice their opinions and provide feedback on what should be changed in the 2023 Farm Bill.

Team Kat Attends The Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo

Image

While I was in Texas this week, I attended the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, the world's largest livestock show! This annual event promotes our nation's agriculture industry by educating the public and providing year-round educational support within the community. We had a blast viewing all the shows and talking with folks about their top 2023 Farm Bill priorities.

Big thanks to the rodeo for inviting us.

Welcoming Brigadier General Bolor of Mongolia To Washington, D.C.

Image

Last week, I had the distinct honor of welcoming to the Capitol Brigadier General Bolor Ganbold of Mongolia, the first woman general in the Mongolian Armed Forces. In nearly 30 years of service to her country, Brigadier General Bolor has achieved a series of firsts and broken barriers that have opened the door for other women to follow

I presented her with a flag flown over the U.S. Capitol in honor of her numerous accomplishments. It was a privilege to speak with her about all she has done for the women of her country during National Women's History Month.

Speaking At The American Farm Bureau's FUSION Conference

Image

Recently, I was honored to keynote the lunch at the American Farm Bureau's FUSION Conference, where volunteer leaders came together to network and build a stronger Farm Bureau. I spoke about the importance of advocacy in both policy and politics as well as all that AFB does to support our farmers, ranchers, and producers as the voice of agriculture around the nation.

As the lone Florida Republican on the House Agriculture Committee, I always look forward to working with AFB on behalf of our state's very important agriculture industry.

Team Kat Shares Constituent Services Information At Bradford County Fair

Team Kat's Hallie manned our booth this year and shared information with constituents about the services our office provides. From help with casework with federal agencies including the IRS, VA, and SBA to emergency passports for upcoming international trips, these services are just a snapshot of how we work to serve Florida's Third Congressional District.

Thanks to everyone for stopping by to visit and for supporting our local fairs in North Central Florida.

Rep. Kat Cammack (R-FL) has accused President Joe Biden of "dragging his feet" on legislation regarding the origins of COVID-19, arguing that the president acting on the legislation would "open Pandora's Box." Both the House and the Senate voted to pass the COVID Origins Act, which would force the Biden administration to declassify all information it has gathered on the origins of COVID-19, with the legislation now heading to Biden's desk for signature.

The flagship here is legislation requiring that Congress address over-delegation by voting to approve major regulations before they can bind the public. A version of this proposal now goes by the less-descriptive name REINS Act (Regulations from the Executive In Need of Scrutiny, H.R. 277/S. 184), which has been reintroduced in the 118th Congress by Rep. Kat Cammack (R-Florida) and Sen. Rand Paul (R-Kentucky). This law would ensure that Congress bears direct responsibility for explicit regulatory costs as well as for the indirect and unfathomable costs comprising the bulk of the administrative state.
