Week of April 10, 2023
Supporting Our Nation's Heroes, American Agriculture, Domestic Energy Production & More

This week in Florida's Third Congressional District, I had the opportunity to tour the Nutrien facility in White Springs to discuss 2023 Farm Bill priorities. As the world's leading provider of crop inputs, the Nutrien team discussed adding phosphate to the critical minerals list due to its importance in producing fertilizers for food production.

Additionally, my team and I were proud to support our FL-03 veterans at the dedication of the new VA Primary Care and Mental Health facilities in Gainesville. We presented hospital leadership with U.S. flags and Congressional Record certificates in honor of their service to our nation's heroes.

With all that's happening this Congress, it is my greatest honor to represent you and hear from you about the issues that matter most. You can read below about what we've been up to this week, and as always, you can stay up to date with us here, on our website, and on TwitterFacebookInstagram, and YouTube.

For Freedom,

Happy Birthday to the U.S. Air Force Reserve! On this day in 1948, the Air Force Reserve was created as a separate component when the Army Air Corps Reserve was transferred to the Air Force.

Thank you to all our Air Force Reservists who have been defending our nation from the skies since 1948. Fly, fight, win!

Presenting Gainesville VA With Flag, Congressional Record In Honor Of Health Facility Dedication

Image

Last week, my team and I attended the dedication of the new VA Primary Care and Mental Health Facilities in Gainesville. These state-of-the-art clinics provide a wide range of services to our nation's veterans. I presented the hospital leadership team with flags flown over the U.S. Capitol and Congressional Record Certificates in honor of each clinic.

I'd like to extend a special thank you to the North Florida/South Georgia Veterans Health System for all it has done to serve our veterans' community in North Central Florida, and we're excited to see how these facilities will continue to provide for our nation's heroes.

Tour Of Nutrien White Springs Site

Image

This week, I visited the Nutrien White Springs Site to tour their facility and discuss policy with the company's senior leadership. Nutrien is the world's largest provider of crop inputs, producing and distributing over 27 million tons of potash, nitrogen, and phosphate products for agricultural, industrial, and feed customers worldwide.

As the lone Florida Republican on the House Agriculture Committee and a member of the House Energy & Commerce Committee, we discussed Nutrien's 2023 Farm Bill priorities, which include adding phosphate to the critical minerals list. Big thanks to Nutrien for having Team Kat!

Meeting With Hamilton County Sheriff's Office

Image

This week, I met with folks from the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office. As one of the new counties to join Florida's Third Congressional District, we sat down to discuss the top issues for our Sheriff and residents in Hamilton County.

Big thanks to the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office for the warm welcome!

Tour Of United Fuel Facility In Chiefland

Image

Earlier this week, I toured the United Fuel facility at their Chiefland location. United Fuel offers fuel, gas, and oil to the greater tri-county area in Dixie, Levy, and Gilchrist, serving police, fire stations, power companies, and ambulances.

As a member of the House Energy and Commerce Committee, we sat down to discuss local energy and H.R. 1—the Lower Energy Costs Act—that House Republicans recently passed in order to bolster America's domestic energy production. We also discussed strategic reserves to better help us prepare for natural disasters and emergency situations.

Presenting To Local Heroes At The Marion County Public Safety Banquet

Image

This week is National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week, a time to honor our public safety telecommunicators for their commitment, service, and sacrifice in keeping our communities safe. This week, I was honored to speak at the 2023 Marion County Public Safety Banquet, the county's annual event to celebrate and thank those who dedicate their lives to serving our citizens in Florida's Third.

It was an honor to address some of our local heroes last night to thank them for the incredible work they do in serving our local communities. Congratulations to all of our award winners!

Rep. Cammack Joins Kennedy To Talk EPA Push For Electric Vehicles

Image

This week, I joined Kennedy on Fox Business to discuss the EPA's recent push for electric vehicles to become mainstream by 2032. This proposal is just another clueless, harebrained plan that actually has no basis in reality, and shows just shows how out-of-touch this administration is. Inflation is at its highest rate since 1982, but sure, Americans can definitely afford to buy electric cars.

More 'Kat In The News'

Image
One of the very best ways to protect representative government is by making the REINS Act into law. Introduced by Rep. Kat Cammack (R-FL), "REINS" is short for " Regulations from the Executive in Need of Scrutiny." The REINS Act helps give lawmaking power back to Congress instead of the unelected bureaucracy that operates outside the bounds of our Constitution and democratic principles. The legislation would require Congress to approve by vote any regulation with an economic impact of over $100 million.
