Congresswoman Kat Cammack Hosts Bipartisan Farm Bill Listening Session In Florida's Third With House Agriculture Committee

GAINESVILLE, FL — Yesterday, Congresswoman Kat Cammack (FL-03) with the House Agriculture Committee hosted a bipartisan Farm Bill Listening Session in Newberry, Florida to address farmers' top priorities ahead of the Farm Bill, set for authorization by Congress this year.

Farmers from Florida's Third and across the state gathered by the hundreds to speak directly to committee members in soliciting critical feedback. Many shared how they believe the Farm Bill should be written to advance agriculture throughout Florida and the nation as a whole, discussing input costs, sustainability, and instruction on updated machinery.

"They should be on the farm right now but they're here because it's that important," said Congresswoman Cammack. "To be able to host the one and only listening session for the Farm Bill in the entire state of Florida was one of the most humbling and privileged moments that I have had in my career."

Florida Farmers, Ranchers & Producers Gather To Provide Critical Feedback During Farm Bill Listening Session 

Prior to the listening session on Monday afternoon, Rep. Cammack led her colleagues on a tour of North Central Florida's agriculture facilities, including Frey Farms and Hodge Farms in Newberry, and Alliance Dairies in Trenton. Members of the committee had the opportunity to learn more about these operations and the issues they're facing in their respective industries.
