Backing The Blue During National Police Week & Supporting Rural Broadband Deployment

This week during the start to National Police Week, I had the honor of leading my Republican colleagues on the House Floor as we thanked our brave men and women in blue and green for all they do to protect our communitiesMy friend and colleague, Sheriff John Rutherford from Florida's Fifth just next door, and I honored the lives of 246 law enforcement officers from across the nation who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving in 2022. While there is never enough we can do to thank our law enforcement officers and their families, we can always remember and honor their legacies.

Additionally, I was proud to introduce the Rural Internet Improvement Act of 2023 this week, a bipartisan measure that is vital in securing reliable high-speed broadband services for America's rural communities. You can learn more about this bill below.

With all that's happening this Congress, it is my greatest honor to represent you and hear from you about the issues that matter most. You can read below about what we've been up to this week, and as always, you can stay up to date with us here, on our website, and on TwitterFacebookInstagram, and YouTube.

For Freedom,

Rep. Cammack Introduces Rural Internet Improvement Act Of 2023

Image

This week, I introduced the Rural Internet Improvement Act of 2023 along with my colleagues Congressman Darren Soto (D-FL-09), Congressman Ronny Jackson (R-TX-13), and Congresswoman Marie Gluesenkamp Perez (D-WA-03). North Central Florida's rural communities deserve reliable, affordable, and high-speed internet access for daily activities, including education, telehealth, business, and more.

This bill is critical in working to ensure ReConnect works for our rural communities, which is why I'm pleased to join with my bipartisan colleagues in connecting more people to the internet for our increasingly digital world.

Honoring Our Nation's Law Enforcement During National Police Week

Image

This week, I had the distinct privilege of leading my Republican colleagues on the House Floor during a special order in honor of our nation’s law enforcement. Each year during National Police Week, we’re reminded of both the work our men and women in blue do every day to keep our communities safe, and the sacrifices of those who gave their lives in the line of duty.

During National Police Week, we're honored to be joined by officers from Florida's Third in Washington, D.C. I will always Back the Blue and support our men and women in blue and green.

Securing Funding For Producers Following Natural Disasters With Block Grant Assistance Act

Image

Florida is no stranger to natural disasters, which is why H.R. 662, the Block Grant Assistance Act, is vital in securing disaster relief funding for agricultural producers. This week, I was proud to support this bill along with my colleagues in the Florida delegation, especially after the devastation our state's citrus industry has seen following Hurricane Ian. As the lone Florida Republican on the House Agriculture Committee, I will always support our farmers, ranchers, and producers.

Visiting RIVEROAK Technical College In Suwannee County

Image

I recently had the honor of visiting the RIVEROAK Technical College in Suwannee County! RIVEROAK is a true gem in North Central Florida and offers 19 post-secondary career certificate programs that lead to industry credentials in high-wage jobs—true victories for our community and economy. Students grow their futures at RIVEROAK and I'm so glad to have had the opportunity to meet with the leadership team, students, and members of Suwannee County Schools administration to learn more about their great work.

Looking forward to seeing all the RIVEROAK graduates accomplish in the future!

Rep. Cammack Joins Martha MacCallum To Discuss GOP Investigation Into Biden Family

Image

This week, I joined Martha MacCallum on Fox News to discuss the growing investigation into Hunter Biden and weaponization related to the Biden family. Since the mass-censoring of the Hunter Biden laptop story in 2020, many have wondered what else the Biden family is hiding. Americans deserve answers, and after my Republican colleagues and I finish our investigation, there will be accountability.

More 'Kat In The News'

Specialty crop production in the U.S. is in danger. Unfair trade practices with Mexico have made sustainability a national concern for producers, not just those in the Southeast. That's why it has to be addressed in the next Farm Bill, to preserve those farms that have survived so far. Florida Rep. Kat Cammack (FL-03) discussed that issue following the Farm Bill listening session in Newberry, Florida, on April 24. "We feed over 150 million Americans every year coming out of the Sunshine State. I think it's so important that this committee hear exactly what the challenges are that our producers are facing here in the Sunshine State," Cammack said.

Former CIA Director John Brennan, one of 51 intelligence officials who falsely suggested Hunter Biden's laptop could be Russian disinformation, spoke to a House subcommittee Thursday as the panel investigates the origin of the "spies who lie" missive.  Brennan’s transcribed interview with the Select Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government lasted more than four hours, according to Fox News. Rep. Kat Cammack (R-Fla.), a member of the panel, told the outlet on Thursday that while the subcommittee is still in the "fact-finding phase" of its investigation, what is already known about the letter and its origin points to federal agencies being weaponized to help Joe Biden in the 2020 presidential election.
