Week of July 3, 2023
Another Big Week In The Sunshine State

After a big week last week in Florida's Third Congressional District, we continued our hard work during this holiday week, visiting locations across North Central Florida. This week, we had stops in Alachua, Marion, Baker, Levy, and Dixie Counties, visiting with constituents and hearing from them about the latest infrastructure, agriculture, and health-related projects in our area.

The House is back in session next week, so we'll have more updates from Washington, D.C. in next week's newsletter. August recess is coming up soon and we look forward to being back in North Central Florida for more visits, updates, and time with you in a few weeks.

With all that's happening this Congress, it is my greatest honor to represent you and hear from you about the issues that matter most. You can read below about what we've been up to this week, and as always, you can stay up to date with us here, on our website, and on TwitterFacebookInstagram, and YouTube.

For Freedom,

We hope you and your family had an amazing Independence Day! We celebrated with fireworks, poolside picnics, and parades, and hope you had a freedom-filled weekend celebrating our nation's birthday.

Passport Services For Your Summer Vacation

Image

Summer is here, which means it's travel time for many constituents in North Central Florida! The Department of State, which processes passports for Americans, is backlogged as they work to process new passport requests and renewals, but we can help make sure your travel plans aren't interrupted by government bureaucracy.

Visit our website here to learn how we can speed up the process for you and your family before your departure date arrives. Check out more info by clicking on the image above or the button below.

Breaking Ground At Starke Wastewater Treatment Facility

Image

We celebrated the groundbreaking for the new City of Starke Wastewater Treatment Facility. The project is a result of years of hard work and grants from the United States Department of Agriculture's Rural Development program, which our team helped to secure at the federal level. Earlier this year, the City of Starke received a $6.3 million grant for rural development, one $9.6 million water and waste disposal grant, and one $10.6 million loan, also to be used for waste and water disposal.

For Starke and the surrounding area, this new facility will be a game changer to ensure the community has the necessary resources at the municipal level to serve its residents. Stay tuned for more exciting information on this front to come!

Touring Cedar Key Infrastructure

Image

We had a great visit in Levy County and Cedar Key! We visited City Hall, the fire station, and viewed the island's infrastructure, including the water challenges there.

Pictured here are Cedar Key Police Chief Edwin Jenkins, City Commissioner Sue Molson, and Fire Chief Robert Robinson. Thanks to everyone for having us and showing us around the incredible city.
