Week of July 17, 2023
Social Media Censorship & Opposing Funding For Adolescent Gender Reassignment Surgeries Take Center Stage

This week, the House Energy & Commerce Committee met for a markup of dozens of health bills, including one for funding children's hospitals. Debate got heated, however, over an amendment to prohibit or allow gender reassignment surgeries at the facilities funded by taxpayer dollars. I showed a video exposing the truth about these surgeries and Democrats walked out. You can watch the outrageous exchange below.

Additionally, the Select Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government held a hearing about social media censorship with Democratic presidential candidate RFK Jr., a censored journalist who broke the Hunter Biden laptop story, and others. You can watch my testimony during the hearing below.

Finally, the Energy & Commerce Committee held a hearing on strengthening our electric grids and protecting them from foreign threats. Take a look at the hearing below!

With all that's happening this Congress, it is my greatest honor to represent you and hear from you about the issues that matter most. You can read below about what we've been up to this week, and as always, you can stay up to date with us here, on our website, and on TwitterFacebookInstagram, and YouTube

Democrats Walk Out Of Hearing Markup After My Video Displaying Dangers Of Gender Reassignment For Children

Image

Yesterday, Democrats walked out of our markup in the Energy & Commerce Committee in protest over an amendment that would prohibit funding for adolescent gender reassignment surgery at children's hospitals.

Instead of sticking it out and having a dialogue, they turned their backs and walked out.

Discussing Social Media Censorship In Weaponization Subcommittee Hearing

Image

This week the Select Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government held a hearing to discuss the social media censorship of individuals by the Biden administration. Witnesses included Democratic presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., a former reporter for the New York Post who broke the Hunter Biden laptop story, and the lead counsel in the Missouri v. Biden case.

During the hearing, I asked the Democratic witness if she believed it was the government's role to keep people safe online by censoring free speech.

Firefighter Cancer Registry Reauthorization

Image

During this week's full committee markup, I spoke in favor of H.R. 3821, the Firefighter Cancer Registry Reauthorization Act of 2023. As the wife to a 16-year veteran of Gainesville Fire Rescue, I understand just how important it is to ensure our first responders are safe and healthy with all the resources necessary to care for their health and wellbeing.

Strengthening The Electrical Grid

Image

During this week's Oversight & Investigations Subcommittee hearing about enhancing the safety of our electric energy infrastructure, I asked witnesses about EMP events and how to harden our infrastructure to improve safety.

I also talked about the components involved in transformer production and how regulatory reform may increase domestic production in the U.S. You can watch the full clip by clicking here or on the image above.

Discussing The Biden Administration's Attack On Free Speech

Image

I joined Harris Faulkner on the Faulkner Focus this week to discuss the Biden administration's attack on free speech through social media companies. We discussed this during our Weaponization Subcommittee hearing on Thursday.

The drama in the courts is a direct result of Biden's imperial presidency. When Article I is subverted by an aggressive, unilateral executive, Biden not only wants to execute the laws, but make them, too.

Condemning Rep. Jayapal's Anti-Semitic Comments

Image

This weekend, Rep. Jayapal, the chair of the progressive wing of the House Democrats, called Israel a "racist state." This came just days before Israeli President Isaac Herzog's visit to Congress.

I find her comments disgusting and I don't think her rhetoric has any place in our nation. We will always stand with Israel and won't let these anti-semitic remarks damage the relationship between our greatest ally in the Middle East. Take a look at my reaction to her comments by clicking the image above or the button below.
