Dear Neighbor,
The attacks on Israel this past weekend were an atrocious and extreme act of hatred and terrorism. We mourn with our global Jewish population and pray for the victims and the families of those whose lives were cut short by a barbaric, extreme, and hate-filled terror organization. In the United States House of Representatives, we will always stand with Israel and defend the country's unequivocal right to defend itself and its citizens.
Our office continues to help evacuate Americans in Israel. If you or someone you know needs help returning to the States, please reach out to us in Washington, D.C. or Gainesville at (202) 225-5744 or (352) 505-0838.
This week I had the chance to speak with the University of Florida's Gators for Israel group. I am in close touch with UF President Sasse and the law enforcement authorities in Gainesville to keep our Jewish student populations safe on campus. You can read more about our conversation below.
Finally, the search for a new Speaker of the House remains an uphill battle. At the time of this newsletter's publication, House Republicans are still in conversations to identify a new nominee after the top vote-getter, Majority Leader Steve Scalise, dropped out of the race unexpectedly late last night. As we advance through this process, we will be sure to keep you informed.
With all that's happening this Congress, it is my greatest honor to represent you and hear from you about the issues that matter most. You can read below about what we've been up to this week, and as always, you can stay up to date with us here, on our website, and on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube. |
