Week of October 30, 2023
November Is Going To Be A Big Month

Dear Neighbor,

Now that the House of Representatives has Speaker Johnson at the helm, we have a big month on the horizon. This month we will celebrate our veterans on Veterans Day, finish passing appropriations bills before Thanksgiving, and continue advocating for our allies in Israel.

This week, I spoke in committee about a new bill to increase transparency for fees charged at hotels and other sites. With tourism as important to our region and the Sunshine State as it is, it's important people know what they'll pay up front. You can check out this clip and others below.

Back home in Florida's Third, Team Kat visited with the Rock Program to hand out needed school supplies. The Rock program is a non-profit organization that provides essential supplies to our students! Thank you, Rock Program, for all that you do. Team Kat also attended UF President Ben Sasse's inauguration. While he's served as president of the University of Florida for several months now, it was great to celebrate the official start to his tenure.

Additionally, our office is taking nominations for our 2023 Veteran of the Year! We want to honor and celebrate our veterans. If you are a veteran or have a veteran in your life, please nominate them here.

With all that's happening this Congress, it is my greatest honor to represent you and hear from you about the issues that matter most. You can read below about what we've been up to this week, and as always, you can stay up to date with us here, on our website, and on TwitterFacebookInstagram, and YouTube.

For Freedom,

Transparency In Fees For Florida Tourism

Image

During this week's Innovation, Data, and Commerce Subcommittee markup, Rep. Cammack spoke on the No Hidden Fees on Extra Expenses for Stays Act. Florida is a leader in the tourism industry and it's important that consumers understand what they will pay at the time they reserve and book a hotel room.

A Visit From Our Neighbors At JAXPORT

Image

Our friends at Jacksonville Port Authority visited D.C. to share updates on their projects and the latest on the port deepening project completed last year. As one of the busiest ports in the U.S., we're lucky to have JAXPORT in North Florida as a major employer for the millions of products and thousands of ships in and out of our region every year. Thank you all for stopping by to update us!

Happy Halloween!

Team Kat Meets The Rock Program To Hand Out School Supplies

Image

Last week, Team Kat visited with the leaders of the Rock Program, a non-profit in Florida's Third that helps students in need with basic essentials, including school supplies, clothing, and food. Founded by Rondo Fernandez and supported by a number of commercial retail operations, including Walmart, the goods collected go to middle and high schools students in need in Marion County Schools. The photos here are from Howard Middle School, which is home to a Rock Program facility in-house. Thank you for hosting us!

Supporting Our Military & Putting America First

Image

"When you have a commander-in-chief who is more like a 'trafficker-in-chief'—a guy who wants an open border, crime in the streets, and spending us into oblivion—we have no ability to prepare for the conflicts that are coming."

On Wednesday night I joined Sean Hannity and my colleagues for a town hall on our priorities for the remainder of this year and this Congress, including holding Joe Biden accountable. Take a look by clicking the button below.
