Week of November 13, 2023
Government Funding, The March For Israel & Thanksgiving Thursday

Dear Neighbor,

In Washington, this week saw plenty of action. The House voted to fund the government through continuous resolutions that expire in January and February. While I opposed the status quo and continuation of Joe Biden and Nancy Pelosi's budgets, we will continue our important work after the Thanksgiving holiday of passing the twelve appropriations bills to put our nation back on the right track.

On Tuesday, tens of thousands marched in support of Israel on the National Mall. It was inspiring to see so many Americans join together to stand against antisemitism. This peaceful gathering contrasted the pro-Hamas protest that turned violent outside DNC headquarters on Wednesday evening. You can see more about this in the "In The News" section below.

We also hosted our November telephone town hall on Monday. If you missed it or want to join us next time, read below on how to sign up for the next call.

Finally, as we head into Thanksgiving next week, we are grateful for the wonderful folks who call North Central Florida home. During this season of gratitude, we are lucky to serve the amazing people of the Sunshine State. From our tables to yours, Happy Thanksgiving.

With all that's happening this Congress, it is my greatest honor to represent you and hear from you about the issues that matter most. You can read below about what we've been up to this week, and as always, you can stay up to date with us here, on our website, and on TwitterFacebookInstagram, and YouTube.

For the Republic,

Cornering DHS Sec. Mayorkas In Homeland Hearing

Image

I rejoined my friends on the Homeland Security Committee to question DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas and FBI Director Christopher Wray about the threats to our homeland at the southern border. I asked about the FBI's investigation of Uzbek nationals with ties to ISIS and law enforcement's response, along with why field interviews with questionable individuals have been redacted.

It's no secret that our southern border is an absolute mess and it's the Biden administration's utter failures that have put our national security at risk.
