Week of December 11, 2023
Investigations To Impeach President Biden Continue

Dear Neighbor,

This week wrapped up the final business of the U.S. House of Representatives before Christmas. Members of Congress are heading home to their families and districts this weekend, and I'm happy to be back in Florida and look forward to seeing so many of you between now and the new year.

On Wednesday, I voted to fully support the impeachment inquiry for President Biden, and on Thursday, I voted to return whole milk back to our public schools! Both were bills passed and more action on both will be coming soon. We will keep you updated on the impeachment inquiry in the new year.

Additionally, this week we are so proud to announce the selection of District Three's Veteran of The Year, Mr. Olajuwon White. Mr. White is currently the Director of Veteran Services in Levy County and he previously served with the Department of Veterans Affairs and Alachua County after his time in the Navy. We look forward to honoring him in January with a ceremony in Gainesville.

As we continue into the holiday season and get closer to Christmas, Team Kat wishes you and your families the very best for a blessed end to 2023 and prosperous start to 2024!

With all that's happening this Congress, it is my greatest honor to represent you and hear from you about the issues that matter most. You can read below about what we've been up to this week, and as always, you can stay up to date with us here, on our website, and on TwitterFacebookInstagram, and YouTube.

For the Republic,

Whole Milk For Healthy Kids Act Passes The House

Image

This week, we passed the Whole Milk for Healthy Kids Act!

In 2012, then-First Lady Michelle Obama moved to only have low-fat variations of milk in schools as part of the National School Lunch Program. Since then, children across the U.S. have had access only to reduced fat and low-fat dairy in their cafeterias. This week we voted to change that with a bipartisan vote of 330-99.

In Florida's Third, we know how important the vitamins and minerals in whole milk are to growing healthy and strong! The bill moves to the Senate where we hope they'll take the same stand to give children more choices at breakfast and lunchtime.

Voting To Continue Investigating The Biden Impeachment

Image

On Wednesday, I voted yes on H.Res 918, a resolution to direct several House committees to continue their ongoing investigations into whether sufficient grounds exist to impeach President Biden. Despite the Biden administration's attempts to dissuade and mislead the American people over the last year, several pieces of evidence suggest the president's role in and direct knowledge of illegal activity.

Congress has a constitutional duty and obligation to continue these investigations and follow the facts wherever they lead. The American people deserve the truth and we will continue working to bring all evidence to light. The measure passed and the impeachment inquiry now moves into the next phase.

I am thrilled to announce Mr. Olajuwon White as our 2023 Veteran of the Year! Mr. White currently serves as Director of Veteran Services in Levy County, and previously served with the Department of Veterans Affairs and Alachua County.

A U.S. Navy veteran himself, Mr. White is a trusted member of the veterans' community in Florida's Third and continues to serve our country by assisting our nation's heroes each day. Congratulations, Mr. White, and we look forward to celebrating you in Gainesville in January.

Meeting With The National Association Of Trailer Manufacturers

Recently, a group of trailer manufacturers with the National Association of Trailer Manufacturers visited us in D.C. Marty Lorick of Triple Crown Trailers in Ocala (left) joined the group to talk about the regulation of trailers as motor vehicles, National Trailer Safety Week, the impacts of a significant workforce shortage, and challenges facing the light and medium-duty trailer industry.

We're thankful they stopped by to meet with us and look forward to seeing the team at Triple Crown at home soon!

University Leaders' Resignations, Border, Impeachment

Image

With antisemitism running rampant in our colleges and universities, I called on the university presidents openly supporting Hamas to STEP DOWN from their roles. As the representative for Gator Nation and the largest Jewish student population in the country, it is so important to me that we support college presidents like UF's own Ben Sasse who advocate for Israel and protect Jewish students on their campuses.

Maria and I also hit on our ongoing border crisis, and the impeachment inquiry resolution passed earlier this week by the House.

Biden Administration's Failure To Fully Support Israel & Climate Control Nightmare

Image

The White House is divided on how to support Israel. Kamala and Joe can't agree on how to handle unequivocally supporting Israel, while their staff protest for a ceasefire on the front steps of the White House. What an embarrassment.

Meanwhile, the "green" technology and conservation efforts Democrats keep peddling are acquiring billions of dollars in DEBT and creating a larger carbon footprint.
