Advocating For People With Disabilities & Fixing Biden's Export Ban

Dear Neighbor,

It was a big week in Washington. The House finally impeached DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas for the utter negligence at the southern border. We will continue to hold him accountable and push for stronger border security that puts an end to the crisis.

In the Energy & Commerce Committee, we made meaningful headway in gathering support for the Charlotte Woodward Organ Transplant Discrimination Prevention Act. I am a proud sponsor of this bill and had the chance to speak about it during a legislative hearing with the bill's namesake in the audience. Advocating for the sanctity and quality of life for people with disabilities is our responsibility and one I take seriously.

Additionally, I spoke on the House Floor this week about the Biden administration's LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas) export ban. The House also passed H.R. 7176, the Unlocking Our Domestic LNG Potential Act, to reverse this LNG ban to protect our American energy jobs and our economy.

This week also brought an exiting group of visitors from North Central Florida! Ocala's very own Blessed Trinity Catholic School visited D.C. to see and learn about our nation's history in Washington. I walked them through the halls of the Capitol and told them about the history of the building and of the House of Representatives. It was a privilege spending the afternoon with these students.

Finally, we hope you enjoyed Valentine's Day with your love ones. Unfortunately, our president doesn't know which holiday it is, so we made a valentine in his honor. You can view it below.

Next week the House is in recess, so I'll be back home in Florida. I hope to see some of you at our stops throughout the district.

With all that's happening this Congress, it is my greatest honor to represent you and hear from you about the issues that matter most. You can read below about what we've been up to this week, and as always, you can stay up to date with us here, on our website, and on XFacebookInstagram, and YouTube.

For the Republic,

Charlotte Woodward Organ Transplant Discrimination Prevention Act

Earlier this week, the Charlotte Woodward Organ Transplant Discrimination Prevention Act was discussed during an Energy & Commerce Health Subcommittee hearing. The bill’s namesake, Charlotte, stopped by our office last week to deliver a valentine in honor of the hearing and her successful heart transplant 12 years ago.

No American should be denied lifesaving treatment and care, including organ transplants, because of their disability. We can't wait to continue advocating for this bill and showing our support for individuals with disabilities.

Happy Birthday, Congresswoman

From all of us on Team Kat, please join us in wishing our boss, Rep. Cammack, a very happy birthday!

We are grateful for everything she does each day to fight for our nation and the values we hold dear. We hope she has the most amazing day filled with Florida Sunshine and all of her favorite things. Happy birthday, Kat!

Happy Valentine's Day From Team Kat

Roses are red, violets are blue, this guy tries to speak, but it sounds like ytieldkeiadneisu?

Even if our president doesn't know which day of the week it is, we hope you had a great Valentine's Day Wednesday with your loved ones.

Reversing Biden's Export Ban

Image

On Thursday afternoon, I spoke on the House Floor in support of H.R. 7176, Rep. Pfluger's "Unlocking Our Domestic LNG Potential Act," which would bolster the United States' energy security, foster economic growth, and stop the damage Biden's LNG export ban has done since it was announced a few weeks ago.

Florida is home to one of the east coast's largest LNG bunkering facilities and boasts JAXPORT, the only east coast port with on-dock and near-dock LNG fueling capacities. The decision to ban LNG exports was a boneheaded one, and Republicans will continue to fight for the energy sources that fuel our nation.

This week, I spoke before the House Energy & Commerce Health Subcommittee about the importance of my bill, the Charlotte Woodward Organ Transplant Discrimination Act. The bill prevents the discrimination of organ transplants and other lifesaving care based on an individual's status. A Special Visit By Ocala's Blessed Trinity Catholic School

Image

This week, students from Blessed Trinity Catholic School in Ocala visited the U.S. Capitol. I had the chance to show them around and share a few interesting facts about the Capitol Rotunda and Statuary Hall before they took once-in-a-lifetime photos on the Speaker's Balcony overlooking the National Mall! It's always such an honor to meet young students and teach them about our government and civic process.

If you or your school group are interested in visiting the Capitol, please connect with our team in D.C. at (202) 225-5744. We would love to host you!
