Dear Neighbor,
The Vietnam War and the impacts it had on the United States have profoundly influenced our country as we know it today. A war cemented in time, it will never be forgotten and we vow to continue supporting the Vietnam War veterans in Florida and across the country.
On March 29th, we honor National Vietnam War Veterans Day. In 2017, President Trump signed the Vietnam War Veterans Recognition Act of 2017 which marks the anniversary of the disestablishment of the U.S. Military Assistance Command in Vietnam as the very last U.S. combat troops evacuated Vietnam to return home. Thank you to those who served and those who paid the ultimate price to protect our freedom.
As the spring officially begins this month, we have important information about VA pensions, an increased number of scamming incidents nationwide, and how to take advantage of Florida's state parks for free. Read more about these important messages below.
Finally, if you know a high school student or young adult (under age 23) interested in attending one of our nation's prestigious service academies, our upcoming Service Academy Day in May is for them. Interested young adults can learn more about congressional appointments to the United States Military Academy at West Point, the United States Naval Academy, the U.S. Air Force Academy, the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy, and the U.S. Coast Guard Academy. Take a look at the flyer below and share with anyone you think might be interested in taking the next steps to serve our country through higher education.
With all that's happening this Congress, it is my greatest honor to represent you and hear from you about the issues that matter most. You can read below about what we've been up to this week, and as always, you can stay up to date with us here, on our website, and on X, Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube. |
