Dear Neighbor,
This week in Congress, we saw a rare showing of overwhelming bipartisanship as the House voted to pass H.R. 7521, the Protecting Americans from Foreign Adversary Controlled Applications Act. The bill incentivizes TikTok to sever its ties with Chinese-owned ByteDance to remain operational in the United States to better protect Americans' data, privacy, and freedom from a known adversary of the U.S.
As a constitutional conservative, I do NOT support the unfettered access social media platforms have to siphon data from Americans. If I wouldn't want our government and American Big Tech companies to have this kind of access, why would I want the Chinese Communist Party to have it?
The warm spring weather in Washington brought with it a number of groups from Florida in town to share their priorities with me and our team, including the Florida Broadcasters, the Tim Tebow Foundation, and several others. You can read more about our visits with these groups below.
Next week begins our final week in Washington, D.C. before a two-week recess for the Easter and Passover holidays. I look forward to seeing many more constituents in town next week for Capitol tours, spring break visits, and beyond.
With all that's happening this Congress, it is my greatest honor to represent you and hear from you about the issues that matter most. You can read below about what we've been up to this week, and as always, you can stay up to date with us here, on our website, and on X, Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube. |
