Dear Neighbor,
This morning, the House voted on a $1.2 trillion government funding package. I voted against this bill out of respect for our nation's fiscal crisis. We cannot continue down the same path of reckless spending without serious changes, including necessary ones to secure our southern border.
In the Energy & Commerce Committee on Wednesday, we unanimously passed my bill ensuring all Americans receive access to lifesaving treatments regardless of their disability status. The bill will head to the House Floor for a vote in the coming months. I'm encouraged by this amazing news and will continue to provide updates as the bill makes its way through the legislative process.
We celebrated National Agriculture Day this week, recognizing the hardworking farmers, ranchers, and producers who feed, clothe, and fuel our nation. I also sponsored a bipartisan, bicameral resolution with my colleagues to designate March 21 as "National Women in Agriculture Day." Women are an integral part of our national agricultural landscape and it's important to recognize their indelible contributions.
The House stands in recess for the next two weeks for the Easter and Passover holidays. I will be home in Florida to meet with many of you and enjoy some much-needed time in our beautiful North Central Florida.
With all that's happening this Congress, it is my greatest honor to represent you and hear from you about the issues that matter most. You can read below about what we've been up to this week, and as always, you can stay up to date with us here, on our website, and on X, Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube. |
