Dear Neighbor,
There is never a slow day when Congress is in session, and today was certainly no exception. This afternoon, I voted no on a bill to reauthorize the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) because it failed to meet the warrant requirement. As a staunch constitutional conservative, I believe the Constitution is not a la carte, the Fourth Amendment included. If the intelligence community needs to surveil American citizens, they should get a warrant. Unfortunately, the bill passed without the warrant requirement, but I will never stop fighting to protect your constitutional rights.
We'll talk about this very topic and more in our next telephone town hall this coming Tuesday, April 16 at 7:30pm! To join me for the evening, please click here to visit our website and sign up.
We had plenty of visitors in our office this week, including several dozen constituents. With summer right around the corner, our office can help you, your family, and friends plan your trip to Washington. Give us a call at (202) 225-5744 for more information. We look forward to hosting you.
Finally, back home in Florida's Third, we had two important groundbreaking ceremonies—one for G&C Foods' distribution facility in Alachua and Grace Christian School of Ocala's new school building. Big things are happening each day in our community and I'm so glad to watch these important milestones take place.
With all that's happening this Congress, it is my greatest honor to represent you and hear from you about the issues that matter most. You can read below about what we've been up to this week, and as always, you can stay up to date with us here, on our website, and on X, Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube. |
