Dear Neighbor,
This week marked the 80th anniversary of D-Day. Marking this special anniversary reminds us of the sacrifices of the brave Americans and other Allied troops as they stormed the beaches of Normandy to force a turning point in World War II. I am incredibly thankful for the Greatest Generation and their courage in the face of overwhelming evil. If you haven't had a chance to take a look at some of the coverage from the ceremonies in France this week, I recommend taking some time to view.
Back home, it was a busy week for Team Kat, with events across our 12 counties. In Gainesville, the Korean Baptist Church of Gainesville hosted an event with Korean War veterans to honor the friendship between the U.S. and South Korea since the war. Our Director of Veterans and Military Affairs, Dave, attended and presented a special congressional recognition for the event.
In Ocala, our Economic Development Coordinator, Jeannie, celebrated the ribbon cutting ceremony for the new RV park at the Southeastern Livestock Pavilion. Check out some of the photos below.
Finally, with Atlantic Hurricane Season in full swing, one of Florida's two annual sales tax holidays is going on now for hurricane preparedness supplies. If you're in need of new items for that storm preparedness checklist, now's your time to stock up. The event runs now through next Friday, June 14.
The House is back next week for more business and the Congressional Baseball Game! Stay tuned in next week's edition for the latest.
With all that's happening this Congress, it is my greatest honor to represent you and hear from you about the issues that matter most. You can read below about what we've been up to this week, and as always, you can stay up to date with us here, on our website, and on X, Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube. |
