Week of June 10, 2024
Swamp Summer Heats Up

Dear Neighbor,

This week was the last of a handful in Washington, D.C. We voted on a number of important pieces of legislation this week, including the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) for FY25, which includes a number of important measures to support our serivcemembers and to keep our fighting force strong. It's important that we continue to support our men and women in uniform.

Next week the House is out of session and I'll be back at home. I look forward to seeing many of you as the week unfolds.

Heading into next week, this Monday, I'm hosting our monthly telephone town hall! It'll be our last one before August, so don't miss the chance to hear about everything happening in Washington and at home. Click here to sign up and learn more.

The Gators play in the Men's College World Series this weekend, too! If you're interested in watching, they take on Texas A&M for the second game of the second bracket on Saturday at 6pm. It's great to be a Florida Gator!

Finally, Sunday is Father's Day! We wish all of the amazing dads in Florida's Third a great day filled with loved ones.

With all that's happening this Congress, it is my greatest honor to represent you and hear from you about the issues that matter most. You can read below about what we've been up to this week, and as always, you can stay up to date with us here, on our website, and on XFacebookInstagram, and YouTube.

For the Republic,

Happy Flag Day

Image

Our nation's most enduring symbol, our flag, Old Glory.

Today we recognize Flag Day, the day in 1777 when the Continental Congress determined the composition of our banner. Ever may she wave!

Happy Birthday To The U.S. Army

Image

Today we wish a very happy 249th birthday to the U.S. Army! The oldest and largest branch of the U.S. Military, we salute our U.S. Army soldiers, both past and present, who have served and defended our nation. Hooah!

Meeting With Susan G. Komen Leadership

Image

It was great to see this inspiring group of women leaders from Susan G. Komen in the office this week! They're on the Hill for their annual advocacy summit where they're learning how to engage with Congress and share their stories about their experiences with breast cancer. As one of the chairs of the Bipartisan Women's Caucus, we've done a lot of work on women's health issues, including breast cancer, and know the difference we can make when we bring more awareness to screenings and prevention.

Thank you for stopping by!

Meeting With Florida Home Builders Association

Image

The Florida Home Builders Association was in town this week and stopped by with a big crew at our office! We discussed the housing industry's top priorities, including the supply of electrical transformers, energy codes, and opportunities for workforce development. Thank you for taking the time to visit with us—it's always a delight having folks from the Sunshine State in D.C.
