Week of October 28, 2024
District Work Continues Before Returning To Washington November 12

Dear Neighbor,

This week was a special one for celebrating our first responders as we marked National First Responders Day and honored heroes in Alachua and Marion Counties. It was an honor to attend both Marion County and Alachua County's celebrations for first responders in our communities. As the wife of a first responder, I'm so proud of all these brave men and women do to keep us all safe.

Our office continues to assist constituents with hurricane claims. If you or someone you know are in need of assistance filing disaster claims or locating resources following Hurricane Helene, please contact my team in Gainesville for more information. You can call (352) 505-0838 or email kcammack.hurricane@mail.house.gov.

With the new year approaching, the presidential inauguration has been scheduled for Monday, January 20, 2025 in Washington, D.C. If you are interested in attending the inauguration, please request tickets through our office on our website here. Please note that only a select number of tickets are available and recipients will be chosen through a lottery-based system to give everyone an opportunity for selection. With questions, please call our D.C. office at (202) 225-5744.

Finally, nominations for our nation's service academies are due today. Interested candidates should submit their materials as soon as possible. With questions, please contact Dorothy in our Gainesville office at (352) 505-0838.

Next week is the last district week before the House returns to session and I look forward to seeing many of you as we make stops throughout the area. We also hope you and your family had a happy and safe Halloween last night—we loved seeing all of the amazing costumes on social media.

With all that's happening this Congress, it is my greatest honor to represent you and hear from you about the issues that matter most. You can read below about what we've been up to this week, and as always, you can stay up to date with us here, on our website, and on XFacebookInstagram, and YouTube.

For the Republic,

Celebrating National First Responders Day

Image

This week we celebrated National First Responders Day! We're so thankful for all of the men and women who serve our communities! We're grateful for all they do to come to our aid and keep our homes, businesses, and schools safe. If you know a first responder, be sure to tell them thank you for all they do!

Demanding Answers From USPS IG Over Jacksonville Issues

Image

If you've experienced mail delays in our region, you're not alone. The Regional Processing and Distribution Center (RPDC) in Jacksonville has been the origin of hundreds of complaints surrounding lost and delayed mail, untimely service, and general disorder. With the hurricanes in the last two months, plus the chaos in Jacksonville, it's clear that our past demands of the USPS haven't been enough.

I joined Rep. Bean and other colleagues requesting the USPS Inspector General take a look at what's happening in Jacksonville. The delays are unacceptable and Floridians deserve answers. Read more here.

Atop A Peanut Warehouse

On Tuesday, I climbed to the top of one of our amazing peanut warehouses to check out part of this season's harvest. Florida is the nation's fourth largest producer of peanuts and the process from field to consumer is incredible. Take a look at the video!

This past weekend, I was honored to attend Alachua County Fire Rescue's 50th Anniversary Gala. Celebrating our first responder heroes both past and present was the perfect opportunity to thank all of the hardworking men and women who serve our communities and are always there when we need them.

Congratulations on 50 amazing years, ACFR! Proud to have you in our community and representing North Central Florida.
