Week of November 4, 2024
House Returns Next Tuesday, Preparing For The 119th Congress

Dear Neighbor,

Following the results of Tuesday's election, the American people voted overwhelmingly to send Republicans to the House, Senate, and White House. The 119th Congress begins on January 3, 2025, and we're excited to get to work. The House returns to session next week where House Republicans will be hard at work welcoming new Members-elect and gearing up for 2025. We look forward to continuing our work on behalf of Florida's Third Congressional District.

With the transition of power officially in progress, the presidential inauguration has been scheduled for Monday, January 20, 2025 in Washington, D.C. If you are interested in attending the inauguration, please request tickets through our office on our website here. Please note that only a select number of tickets are available and recipients will be chosen through a lottery-based system to give everyone an opportunity for selection. With questions, please call our D.C. office at (202) 225-5744.

Last week in Florida, I had the opportunity to celebrate two outstanding health systems in our area. First, I joined HCA Florida Ocala Hospital for a celebration recognizing the hospital's ten years with a trauma designation. The team at HCA Ocala has treated over 5,000 injured patients this year alone. We have no doubt this excellence will continue. Meanwhile, I joined UF Health for the unveiling of the new Mobile Cancer Screening Connector, a unit that will travel the North Central Florida area and provide cancer screenings for patients. Having just finished October's Breast Cancer Awareness Month, it's pivotal that we remember to take preventative screenings seriously.

Finally, our office continues to assist constituents with hurricane claims. If you or someone you know are in need of assistance filing disaster claims or locating resources following Hurricane Helene, please contact my team in Gainesville for more information. You can call (352) 505-0838 or email kcammack.hurricane@mail.house.gov.

Next week the House returns to session on Tuesday. As mentioned above, we'll be working to set the House Republican Conference up for success to hit the ground running in January. Stay tuned here and via social media to see the latest.

With all that's happening this Congress, it is my greatest honor to represent you and hear from you about the issues that matter most. You can read below about what we've been up to this week, and as always, you can stay up to date with us here, on our website, and on XFacebookInstagram, and YouTube.

For the Republic,

Important House Rules Changes In
119th Congress

Image

Early this Congress we secured in House Rules a requirement that Members have at least 72 hours to read bills before votes, and a requirement that Members provide a single-subject statement for each bill introduced. The American people deserve Members who take the time to read what's included in major pieces of legislation and to know that bills focus on only one issue at a time.

We've got more to come when the 119th Congress kicks off in January.

Veterans Day Next Week

Image

Monday marks Veterans Day, a day to honor and thank the brave men and women who have proudly served in our U.S. Armed Forces. Veterans represent the very best this country has to offer and we're grateful for their continued service and sacrifice even after they've left the service. Be sure to thank our veterans on Monday and remember their brave sacrifices that keep this nation free.

Counting Down To January 3, 2025

HCA Ocala Celebrates 10 Years Of Trauma Designation

Image

We were proud to celebrate HCA Florida Ocala Hospital's ten years with a trauma designation at a special event at WEC last week! The hospital received its preliminary trauma certification in 2012 and became a full Florida Level 2 trauma center in 2014. So far this year, the HCA Ocala team has treated over 5,000 injured patients and has had two trauma team members appointed to state boards for trauma hospitals and systems.

As the wife of a first responder, we know how important it is to receive quality care when every second counts. Thanks to the HCA team for all of their hard work and congratulations on ten years as a leader in trauma care.

UF Health Unveils Mobile Cancer Screening Connector

Image

Last week I was proud to join UF Health for the announcement of the Mobile Cancer Screening Connector, a new unit to connect our communities with accessible care that goes directly to them in their communities. The mobile unit offers screenings for cervical, colon, and prostate cancers, and provides important educational resources for the community with trained medical professionals employed by the health system.

This is exciting news and we can't wait to see all the good this new mobile connector can do in keeping our communities healthy.
