Dear Neighbor,
I hit the ground running this week during our first week back after October recess. I had the privilege to run for House GOP Conference Chair, and while I wasn't selected, I'm looking forward to seeing the great work new Chairwoman Lisa McClain will do as she advances our message during the 119th Congress.
In a unanimous vote, Speaker Mike Johnson was reelected by the Republican Conference to serve as the Speaker of the House. I'm grateful for Speaker Johnson's leadership and I know he will serve the American people and help our majority pass meaningful legislation. Further, my colleagues reelected Steve Scalise as the Majority Leader and Tom Emmer as the Majority Whip. I'm looking forward to working with them to advance President Trump's America First agenda.
This past Monday, Team Kat marked Veterans Day! I'm so thankful to our veterans who have sacrificed so much to protect the freedoms and liberties of America. Thank you for all you have done.
Finally, discoveries of inherent bias at FEMA against homes of Trump supporters have created an uproar. I'm livid that people have been denied assistance or were disregarded by FEMA due to their support for President Trump. I'm working with my colleagues to get answers and prevent this from ever happening again. You can read more below about what my colleagues and I are doing to remedy this egregious error.
With all that's happening this Congress, it is my greatest honor to represent you and hear from you about the issues that matter most. You can read below about what we've been up to this week, and as always, you can stay up to date with us here, on our website, and on X, Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube. |
