Week of November 18, 2024
Thanksgiving Is Around The Corner & Trump Is Growing His Cabinet

Dear Neighbor,

This week, President Trump has continued to announce strong American leaders to fill his cabinet! The 20th of January is quickly approaching, and I cannot wait to see President Trump take command. After four years of runaway inflation, a disastrous border crisis, rising crime, and more, we're ready for a breath of fresh air.

The Chair of the House Agriculture Committee, Glenn "GT" Thompson, recently visited our home in Florida's Third to speak with farmers and survey the agricultural damage from Hurricane Helene. As Chairman, Representative Thompson has the knowledge and ability to shape policy in support of our farmers. With the Farm Bill awaiting action in the Senate, it's critical that we keep pushing for its passage and vocally supporting the amazing work of our producers. Thank you for visiting, Mr. Chairman.

In recognition of Thanksgiving next week, Congress will be in recess until December 3. We wish you all a safe and happy Thanksgiving with your families and look forward to ringing in the holiday season thereafter.

With all that's happening this Congress, it is my greatest honor to represent you and hear from you about the issues that matter most. You can read below about what we've been up to this week, and as always, you can stay up to date with us here, on our website, and on XFacebookInstagram, and YouTube.

For the Republic,

Advocating For Florida's Producers In Hurricane Recovery

Image

This weekend I invited House Agriculture Committee Chairman Glenn “GT” Thompson to Florida's Third to meet with Florida producers and view some of the damage caused by the hurricanes this season. According to FDACS, Florida’s producers sustained over $2B in damages and economic losses after Helene and Milton, generating hardships for the men and women who work to feed, clothe, and fuel our state and nation.

While help from USDA has been virtually nonexistent, Chairman Thompson and some of my colleagues who visited are committed to ensuring our producers have the resources they need.

Take a look at our visits on Saturday.

An Award For Supporting Women's Health Research

Image

On Tuesday, the Society for Women's Health Research (SWHR) stopped by the office to present an award for our team's work to champion National Cholesterol Education Month and heart health! Over the last four years in coordination with the Bipartisan Women's Caucus, we've worked hard to remind folks about the importance of preventative care and keeping up with the necessary screenings throughout the year.

Thanks for your important work, SWHR, and for your commitment to women's health.
