Dear Neighbor,
This week was a busy one as we began the first full week of the 119th Congress. While official committee business has yet to begin, we've had a busy week on the Floor with key legislation, including the Laken Riley Act.
Passed earlier this week, the Laken Riley Act honors Georgia nursing student Laken Riley who was tragically killed by an illegal immigrant. The bill holds the federal government responsible when it fails to enforce important border laws, like those that would have kept Laken's killer behind bars. You can read more about H.R. 29 below as it will soon head to President Trump's desk after passage by the U.S. Senate.
On Monday, the House of Representatives certified Donald J. Trump's election as the 47th President of the United States! I went live on Facebook to walk and talk on my way to certify the election with my colleagues. If you'd like to learn more about the process, you can click here.
I've also been proud to co-sponsor several pieces of legislation, including Rep. Thomas Massie's H.R. 24 to audit the Federal Reserve. You can read more about it and my introduced legislation, including the REINS Act, below.
Finally, next Tuesday, January 14 at 6:30pm is our first telephone town hall of the year. If you don't receive our telephone town hall phone calls, now's your chance to sign up so you don't miss one. See below for a link to our online sign-up.
With all that's happening this new Congress, it is my greatest honor to represent you and hear from you about the issues that matter most. You can read below about what we've been up to this week, and as always, you can stay up to date with us here, on our website, and on X, Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube. |
