Dear Neighbor,

Monday is a big day with President Trump's inauguration. We're gearing up for a busy weekend in Washington and have already seen so many constituents in town picking up their inauguration tickets. If you're in town and received a ticket from our office, we're looking forward to seeing you today!

This week, Governor DeSantis considered me as a top replacement choice for Senator Rubio. While I wasn't selected, I am honored to congratulate future Senator Moody and see the good work she does for the great State of Florida. I am so grateful to serve Florida's Third Congressional District and cannot wait to continue working to advance President Trump's agenda.

In between inauguration prep and a couple key organizing hearings for our committees, I voted in favor of the two below pieces of legislation:

• H.R. 30, Preventing Violence Against Women by Illegal Aliens Act
• H.R. 28, Protection of Women and Girls In Sports Act

All of these pieces of legislation are commonsense and work to advance the conservative principles that Florida's Third and all Americans deserve. 

Finally, Monday is the big day! President Trump's swearing-in ceremony begins at 11:30am ET. If you cannot attend in-person, the ceremonies will be live-streamed on all major television networks.

Gov. DeSantis Considers Me For Senate

It was an absolute honor to have been considered for U.S. Senate by Gov. Ron DeSantis. Congratulations to Ashley Moody on the appointment. 

Preventing Violence Against Women By Illegal Aliens Act

On Thursday I proudly voted in support of H.R. 30, the Preventing Violence Against Women by Illegal Aliens Act.

In 2024, 20,061 illegal aliens were not detained for sexual assault. This bill addresses gaps in immigration law to protect Americans from preventable crimes. By barring and removing aliens who commit sex offenses or domestic violence-related crimes, we're prioritizing public safety and removing criminal aliens from the United States. The families of Laken Riley, Mollie Tibbetts, and countless others deserve to know that what happened to their loved ones cannot happen again.

Prioritizing Women's Rights In Athletics

This week, I proudly voted for the Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act! We have to uphold the integrity of women's sports and ensure the promise of Title IX.

It's simple: biological women should compete against biological women.

Protecting Americans' Voting Rights

Before being blocked by Senate Democrats last Congress, the House-passed SAVE Act protects the integrity and sanctity of our elections by requiring states to obtain proof of citizenship in-person before registering an individual to vote in a federal election and removing non-citizens from the voter rolls.

I'm proud to be an original co-sponsor of the reintroduced bill this Congress to safeguard our elections and ensure American elections are for American citizens. Period.

Speaking About President Trump's Inauguration With Dunnellon Middle School Students

I recently spoke with Dunnellon Middle School students Cheyenne and Shanelle about the upcoming presidential inauguration for a class project in their video production course. They asked so many thoughtful questions about the celebrations and how they as students can stay involved in our nation's traditions.

I'm always thrilled to talk with young students and see their passions for their coursework!
