Dear Neighbor,
This week was a busy one in Washington, D.C. as the budget reconciliation process continued with the passage of the House budget resolution. Read more below about how we're working to secure permanent tax cuts, no taxes on tips, and cuts in wasteful spending. The House and Senate continue working together with committees to move the process forward. Stay tuned for updates.
We introduced two important pieces of legislation this week—the Charlotte Woodward Organ Transplant Discrimination Prevention Act and the Defund NPR Act. You can read about both below and the stories behind each.
We also shared photos from our district visits last week, including the Marion/Ocala CEP February exCEPtional Morning event and a visit to Kimberly's Center of Marion County. Kimberly's Center for Child Protection in Marion County is a truly incredible place where the smallest victims in our community receive quality and timely care to heal from the trauma of child abuse. The story and the staff are nothing short of incredible and I'm grateful to our community partners for their commitment and dedication to supporting our youth.
The House returns to session next week for another busy week, including President Trump's first State of the Union address of his second term on Tuesday, March 4. We'll be sharing what we hope the president discusses during his speech and look forward to showing the behind-the-scenes moments leading up to the big night at the Capitol.
With all that's happening this new Congress, it is my greatest honor to represent you and hear from you about the issues that matter most. You can read below about what we've been up to this week, and as always, you can stay up to date with us here, on our website, and on X, Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube. |
