Dear Neighbor,
This week was the second of three busy weeks in Washington, D.C. President Trump delivered his first joint address to Congress of his second term on Tuesday night. He outlined his agenda for his second term and hosted several special guests, including a 13-year-old with brain cancer, parents of children killed by illegal immigrants, and more. If you missed the joint address, read below for a recap.
In the Energy & Commerce Committee this week, we held a hearing on Biden's broadband blunders and work the Trump administration is doing to close the digital divide. We also introduced the DIGITAL Applications Act with Democratic Rep. Doris Matsui to improve the federal permitting process for the Departments of Agriculture and the Interior. You can read more about that bill below.
We also met with Veterans Affairs Secretary Doug Collins at his office on Tuesday. Secretary Collins is a former member of the House who has a passion for serving our nation's heroes. We spoke about the future of VA facilities in Florida's Third and the future of the Community Care program. We look forward to sharing more from this meeting in the coming days.
Finally, this week we celebrated 180 years of Florida! I'm proud to represent the best district in the best state in the nation.
With all that's happening this new Congress, it is my greatest honor to represent you and hear from you about the issues that matter most. You can read below about what we've been up to this week, and as always, you can stay up to date with us here, on our website, and on X, Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube. |
