Week of April 7, 2025
  National CHOMP-ions!

Dear Neighbor,

What an incredible week for North Central Florida and our incredible Florida Gators! After a thrilling Monday night win, it's great to be a Florida Gator and great to be back on top of the college basketball world! I celebrated the Gators on the House Floor in a speech Thursday morning and in committee hearings all week—keep reading for more.

Yesterday, the House passed H.R. 22, the SAVE Act, cementing the belief that American elections are for American citizens only. I spoke on the House Floor about the bill yesterday; you can take a look at that speech later in this newsletter.

During an Energy & Commerce Committee markup this week, my bill to support blockchain technology passed by voice vote. The bill reaffirms the importance of blockchain and its uses in supply chains, logistics, and beyond. The next stop for this bill will be consideration before the whole House later this year. Stay tuned for more here.

We had several great visitors in the office this week, including Jewish students from UF, leaders from Columbia County, and several UF student-athletes. Read more below about those meetings!

Finally, the Passover holiday begins tomorrow at sundown. We wish all who celebrate a peaceful and happy celebration.

With all that's happening this new Congress, it is my greatest honor to represent you and hear from you about the issues that matter most. You can read below about what we've been up to this week, and as always, you can stay up to date with us here, on our website, and on XFacebookInstagram, and YouTube.

For the Republic,

The SAVE Act Passes The House

Image

Yesterday, H.R. 22, the SAVE Act, passed the House of Representatives. The bill ensures that American elections are for American citizens only. 87 percent of Americans believe that American elections should be solely for the American people, but Democrats seem to disagree. Announcing The RSC Emerging Tech Task Force

Image

On Monday I announced the launch of the Republican Study Committee's newest effort, the Emerging Technologies Task Force! As Chair, I'll lead this task force with my colleague from California, Rep. Jay Obernolte, to ensure the United States remains the world leader in new and emerging technology, from 5G and spectrum technology to blockchain, AI, quantum computing, and beyond.

Thanks to RSC Chairman Congressman August Pfluger for his support of this new effort. We're ready to get to work!

Blockchain Bill Passes Energy & Commerce Committee

Image

This afternoon during our Energy & Commerce full committee markup, I spoke about my bill, the Deploying American Blockchains Act of 2025, co-sponsored with Rep. Darren Soto. Blockchain is the future of our supply chain and so much more—it was great to have the bipartisan support of my colleagues to advance the bill out of the full committee.

Plus, a special shoutout for our NATIONAL CHAMPION Florida Gators after Monday night's historic win!

AIPAC Gators In D.C.

Image

Great to see UF students on the Hill with AIPAC in Florida! The team stopped by the Energy & Commerce Committee to say hello during a busy day of meetings with the Florida delegation. Fresh off of our national championship on Monday, I'm always glad to see more Gators in town! Go Gators!

Columbia County Officials In Town

Image

Lovely to see officials from Columbia County in town this week! We met in my office to discuss their ongoing economic development projects, including the relocation of a railway crossing to a safer location for semi-trucks and school buses. We also discussed available site-ready land for manufacturing and distribution facilities in Florida, which are perfect for the intersections of I-10 and I-75.

Columbia is Florida's Gateway and an excellent place to live, work, and play in Florida's Third! Thank you all for visiting this week!

Gator Athletes Take The Capitol

Met with a few Gators on Wednesday to discuss NIL issues and was presented with a gift from Coach Golden on behalf of 2025 NCAA National Champion Bennett "Buckets." Looking forward to hosting the entire Gator team in our nation's capital soon!
