Week of April 14, 2025
  Opening Our New Ocala Office

Dear Neighbor,

This week has been an incredible one back in the district for the first time in a month after several busy weeks in Washington. We opened our new Ocala District Office on Monday and welcomed hundreds of constituents and local leaders to a grand opening celebration. Thanks to all of our special guests and constituents for making our grand opening event one to remember. You can take a look at some of the photos below and on our Facebook page.

We had several productive meetings with constituents in the Gainesville office, including UF students with Students for Life, the Community Foundation of North Central Florida, and several others. Next week is another district week with more district stops and meetings, so check back here next week for more!

Our spring Service Academy Day will be on Saturday, May 17 from 9am-12pm at Buchholtz High School in Gainesville. Hear from representatives from each of our nation's service academies and learn more about our office's role in nominating young servants for our prestigious military programs. With questions, please contact us in Gainesville at (352) 505-0838.

Finally, the Lenten season ends this weekend with Easter Sunday. We wish all who celebrate a peaceful and happy Easter celebration.

With all that's happening this new Congress, it is my greatest honor to represent you and hear from you about the issues that matter most. You can read below about what we've been up to this week, and as always, you can stay up to date with us here, on our website, and on XFacebookInstagram, and YouTube.

For the Republic,

Commerce Announces Departure From Tomato Suspension Agreement

Image

This week was a great one in the Sunshine State! On Monday evening, the Commerce Department announced it would withdraw from the 2019 Tomato Suspension Agreement on Fresh Tomatoes from Mexico. For years, Mexican tomato producers have been dumping cheap produce on our markets, making it difficult for domestic producers, including those in Florida, to keep up.

We have been leading the charge on this for years and today's news is the first step toward righting the ship! Read more below.

Team Kat proudly celebrated the ribbon cutting and grand opening of Marion County's newest fire station in Citra! The old building had grown old long ago, and now the new station will be an excellent facility for our first responders in Florida's Third! Looking forward to seeing all of the incredible, lifesaving work coming out of this station in the years to come.
