Dear Neighbor,

This past week, America lost conservative leader Charlie Kirk to an act of political violence—a heartbreaking tragedy that shows just how dangerous unchecked political hatred can become. His death wasn’t just an attack on one man; it was an attack on a core American principle: that we can disagree, debate, and stand on different sides without resorting to violence.

No matter our differences, violence cannot be part of our politics. I’ve been clear: we must reject it and get back to being Americans first. You can view my comments here and here

As we mourn this loss and pray for Charlie’s loved ones, House Republicans are taking decisive action to make America safer. We passed legislation to strengthen our military, secure our borders, and protect our communities—because safeguarding our country means standing up for the values that hold us together: freedom, peace, and the rule of law.

It is my greatest honor to represent you in Congress and to hear about the issues that matter most to you. You can read below about what we've been up to, and as always, you can stay up to date by visiting cammack.house.gov, Facebook, Instagram, X, and Youtube

Building Florida’s Future Through AI Innovation

Image

I had a great conversation with Nvidia co-founder Chris Malachowsky and his team alongside leaders from the University of Florida, including UF Provost Dr. Joe Glover, about the future of AI computing resources for academic research and AI education.

With UF proudly representing FL-03, we showcased how partnerships like Nvidia’s collaboration with the univeristy are opening new doors for innovation, workforce development, and even national defense. We’re working on something big that will be truly transformational for our district, our state, and our country—so stay tuned!

Supporting Women & Families in Florida’s Third District

Last week, I met with the Florida representatives of Concerned Women for America (CWA) to discuss key legislation aimed at strengthening support for mothers and safeguarding the integrity of women’s sports. A special thank-you to Beverly Shoemaker, State Director of CWA of Florida—and a proud FL-03 constituent—for leading the discussion and for her steadfast advocacy for faith, family, and freedom.

Peace Through Strength: FY26 NDAA Puts America's      Security First

Last week, the House passed the critical National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) for FY2026 that carries out President Trump’s 'Peace Through Strength' plan and keeps America’s military the best in the world. We secured nine major amendments in this bill—to take on China, fortify supply chains, enhance readiness, and more.

Here’s what’s in this year's NDAA:

  • Faster tools for our troops: Cuts red tape so our military can get new gear and technology faster instead of waiting years.
  • Better support for servicemembers: Gives all troops a 3.8% pay raise, expands healthcare, childcare, housing, and education, and improves life for military families.
  • Stronger against our enemies: Invests in new weapons and defense systems, builds new Navy ships and fighter jets, and strengthens our presence in the Indo-Pacific to counter China.
  • Protecting our border: Funds the deployment of troops to the border and sets aside nearly $1 billion to crack down on drug traffickers.
  • Ending waste and woke politics: Ends DEI programs, bans Critical Race Theory, stops affirmative action at military academies, and cuts $20 billion in wasteful spending so the military can focus on its core mission—keeping America safe.
  • Delivers on President Trump and Peace Through Strength Agenda: Codifyies 15 of President Trump’s executive orders, ending woke ideology at the Pentagon, securing the border, revitalizing the defense industrial base, and restoring the warrior ethos.

I’m thrilled that the FY26 NDAA includes nine of my amendments specifically aimed at:

  • Directing the GAO to study Chinese-sourced materials used in U.S. munitions, microelectronics, and energy storage systems.
  • Requiring a DoD assessment of vulnerabilities in U.S. medical supply chains, including dependence on Chinese active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) and medical devices.
  • Expanding NSA support to share cyber threat intelligence with the defense and telecommunications sectors.
  • Requiring a DoD report on cyber training interoperability and the feasibility of creating a unified cyber academy.
  • Directing DoD to prioritize university partnerships in advanced research areas like hypersonics, biotechnology, and artificial intelligence.
  • Establishing a timeline and annual reporting requirement for the Department of Defense to achieve a clean audit.
  • Directing a report on Navy aviation maintenance backlogs and aircraft availability, with particular attention to Florida-based squadrons and facilities.
  • Requiring a joint DoD/FEMA report on National Guard equipment shortfalls and disaster response capabilities.
  • Expanding DoD coordination with HHS and DOJ on fentanyl operations, including the monitoring of precursor chemicals entering the U.S. supply chain.

Bottom line: This bill gives our troops the tools they need, supports military families, and puts America’s security first.

Cracking Down on Illegal Border Crossings

For years, the Biden Administration let illegal immigrants cross the border and remain in the country without facing real consequences. That’s encouraged more people to try crossing illegally, and many have come back even after being caught. In fact, over 70% of people caught reentering illegally last year had criminal records—proving that stronger penalties are needed to keep our communities safe.

This is exactly why I voted for the Stop Illegal Entry Act. This legislation will:

  • Toughen the penalties for people who cross the border illegally, especially those who do it repeatedly or have criminal records,
  • Give prosecutors more resources to go after people who crossed illegally under Biden’s watch, and
  • Keep criminal aliens out of our communities by making it clear that breaking our laws will have consequences.
What This Means: Republicans are putting an end to catch-and-release, holding lawbreakers accountable, and making our communities safer.

Expanding Prenatal Screening to Save Lives

Image

I hosted a bipartisan press conference to announce a new resolution to expand prenatal screening for Antiphospholipid Syndrome (APS)—a condition that can cause miscarriages, stillbirths, and serious pregnancy complications but is often preventable with early testing. I was joined by Congresswoman Sydney Kamlager-Dove and singer-songwriter Christina Perri, who has personally experienced APS-related loss. Together, we highlighted how this small step can save lives and protect moms and babies across the country.

Standing Against Hate, Standing for America

Video
Video

In the last week, I have spoken out extensively on the need to reject politcally motivated violence and on how we get back to being Americans first. Following the tragic assassination of Charlie Kirk, I joined NewsNation’s Connell McShane and Anna Kooiman to reflect on Charlie's legacy and the powerful words his wife, Erika, delivered to the nation.

As Americans, we cannot allow hate and violence to become the new normal—division only breeds destruction, and we all lose when we forget what unites us. Charlie’s mission to fight for truth, freedom, and faith lives on in all of us who refuse to let darkness win. Watch by clicking on the images above.
