Week of September 7, 2026

Dear Neighbor,

It was another busy week back in Florida's Third Congressional District!

From meeting with local veterans and community leaders to visiting senior living facilities and delivering resources to caregivers, this week was focused on connecting with the people and organizations that make Florida’s Third Congressional District so special. Every stop was an important opportunity to listen, learn, and connect with the people I am proud to represent.

This week also carried a heavier weight, as our district paused to commemorate September 11, 2001. I stood alongside students, neighbors, first responders, and community leaders to honor the lives we lost and the heroes who ran toward danger without a moment's hesitation. Twenty-five years later, their courage, selflessness, and sacrifice continue to unite and inspire us. We owe it to them, and to every service member and first responder who carries that legacy forward today, to never let that memory fade.

As always, thank you for the trust you place in me to serve as your voice in Washington. The people of North Central Florida never stop showing up for one another, and it's my privilege to show up for you every single day.

For the Republic,

Twenty-Five Years Later,

They Still Run In

This week, the Alachua Chronicle published my op-ed on what we owe the first responders who are still paying for September 11.

Twenty-five years ago, 343 FDNY firefighters and 60 law enforcement officers went up so that everyone else could make it down. The cost of that day did not stop when the towers fell. Many who answered the call have spent years fighting illnesses tied to the recovery work, and some of them are our neighbors here in North Central Florida. My husband Matt joined Gainesville Fire Rescue because of 9/11, so this one is personal for our family.

University of Florida Stair Climb Tribute

I started the day bright and early at the University of Florida’s 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb.

I was deeply moved to see so many students and community members come together to honor the first responders who ran toward the unknown on September 11, 2001. With each step, participants carried forward the memory of those heroes, whose extraordinary courage and sacrifice united our nation during one of its darkest moments.

Their determination and reverence were a powerful reminder that the next generation is committed to honoring the fallen, preserving the legacy of those who answered the call on September 11, 2001, and ensuring that we never forget.

Lake City First Responders 9/11 Commemoration

I joined Lake City’s first responders to honor the heroes who made the ultimate sacrifice while working to save the lives of others on September 11th. Their courage in the face of unimaginable danger remains a powerful example of selfless service and love of country.

Every day, our first responders honor that example by answering the call and running toward danger while others run away. We owe these brave men and women an immeasurable debt of gratitude for the sacrifices they make to keep our communities safe.

May we never forget the heroes we lost and always honor those who continue to serve.

K-9 Beamer's Retirement Celebration

Image

I had the privilege of recognizing Gainesville Regional Airport’s K-9 Beamer as she retired after eight and a half years of faithful service to our community.

Beamer was named in honor of Todd Beamer, the American hero who joined his fellow passengers in fighting back against the hijackers aboard Flight 93. Throughout her distinguished career, she carried that legacy of courage and service forward by helping protect travelers and keep our community safe.

Thank you for your many years of service, Beamer. We wish you a happy and well-earned retirement!

Empath Dementia Education and Care Center

I had the opportunity to hand-deliver laptops and books for patients and caregivers at Hospice of Marion County's Empath Dementia Education and Care Center.

The team at Empath Dementia Education and Care Center has made it their mission to equip caregivers with the resources and support they need to provide high-quality care for seniors living with dementia and Alzheimer’s disease right here in our community.

I am taking their voices and experiences back to Washington as I continue fighting for greater investment in research, fewer burdensome regulations, and meaningful support for the caregivers who devote their time to caring for others.

Breakfast with Marion County and Ocala Elected Officials

Image

I got to sit down with Marion County and Ocala elected officials to discuss the issues facing our communities and how we can continue working together to serve the people we represent.

Strong communities are built by dedicated leaders who show up every day, listen to their neighbors, and work tirelessly to make a difference. I am proud to stand alongside these men and women and am grateful for their continued commitment to serving Marion County.

Marion Woods-Sky Assisted Living Facility

I had a wonderful visit with the residents and staff at Marion Woods–Sky Assisted Living Facility. It was a pleasure catching up with local seniors, hearing their stories, and learning more about the issues that matter most to them.

The dedicated team at Marion Woods works each day to ensure residents receive the care, support, and sense of community they deserve. I am grateful for their continued commitment to supporting our seniors and ensuring they get the care they deserve.

Chabad UF: Rosh Hashanah Celebration

Image

I had the pleasure of speaking at Chabad UF and joining students and community members in celebrating the beginning of Rosh Hashanah. It was a wonderful opportunity to come together in fellowship and welcome the Jewish New Year.

Rosh Hashanah is a meaningful season of faith, reflection, and renewal. The warmth and sense of community at Chabad UF were truly special, and I am grateful to everyone who welcomed me and shared this important celebration.

Real America's Voice: Bolling!

I joined Eric Bolling on Real America’s Voice to discuss what I have called the “culture of creepiness” on Capitol Hill and the need for meaningful reforms to combat workplace sexual misconduct.

Accountability cannot begin and end with expulsions. As Chair of the Republican Women’s Caucus, I am committed to advancing solutions that strengthen prevention, promote transparency, improve training, and ensure Members are held accountable.
