Week of September 14, 2026

Dear Neighbor,

It was another busy week in Washington, working hard to deliver results for North Central Florida!

From being recognized for my work defending the Second Amendment and protecting parental rights to engaging with industry leaders and hearing directly from women across the country, it was a packed week focused on the issues that matter most to hardworking Americans.

Back on Capitol Hill, we kept that momentum going. The House advanced several important pieces of legislation, the Energy and Commerce Committee got to work during a full committee markup, and we saw meaningful progress on the long-overdue Farm Bill.

Here’s a rundown of the week’s legislative work and why it matters for FL-03:

Farm Bill Update
This week, the Senate Agriculture Committee voted to pass its version of the Farm Bill out of committee, sending it to the full Senate floor for consideration. This comes after the House already passed our version back in April, and it's the momentum this long-overdue legislation needed.

Our farmers have waited years for a new Farm Bill, and this is a meaningful step in the right direction. I'll keep fighting to get a strong, finished Farm Bill across the line for the hardworking farm families of North Central Florida.

Energy and Commerce Full Committee Markup

This week in the Energy and Commerce Committee, I was proud to vote YES on H.R. 6152, the Foreign Robocall Elimination Act. The bill passed out of committee and now moves forward for consideration by the full House. This commonsense legislation will strengthen our ability to crack down on illegal foreign robocalls and better protect Americans from scams and fraud.

For families and seniors across North Central Florida, that means stronger efforts to stop fraudulent calls before they reach their phones and better protection from scammers trying to take advantage of them. Floridians should be able to answer their phones without wondering whether someone on the other end is trying to scam them.

Wins for FL-03
H.R. 9497, the Water Resources Development Act of 2026 was a major win for our district. This bill authorizes critical Army Corps of Engineers water infrastructure projects across the country, and it delivers real results right here in Florida's Third.

I'm proud to have delivered $50 million for water projects across North Central Florida through WRDA to protect our communities, our ecosystems, and our environment, all without a single earmark. That funding supports new and expanded water and wastewater infrastructure in Columbia, Suwannee, Marion, and Gilchrist counties, communities that have carried the weight of decades of growth and back-to-back storms.

This bill also advances a coastal storm risk analysis for Horseshoe Beach in Dixie County, and protects the Lower Withlacoochee River watershed so we can restore and safeguard that ecosystem for generations to come.

Additional Votes and Legislation

I also voted YES this week on various bills that put American families first and fight fraud:

As always, thank you for the trust you place in me to serve as your voice in Washington. Delivering results like these for North Central Florida is exactly the kind of work I came to Congress to do.

Gun rights are women's rights!

I was honored to receive the 2A Legislator of the Year Award from Women for Gun Rights in recognition of my work defending our Second Amendment freedoms.

The right to keep and bear arms is a fundamental constitutional right, and protecting it is a responsibility I take very seriously. I’ll always stand firm in defense of the Second Amendment and the freedoms and liberties granted by the Constitution that keep America strong.

Moms for America Action

I understood the assignment!

I was proud to earn an "A" grade on the Moms for America Action Report Card for my work standing up for parents, families, and the values that make America strong.

Parents deserve a voice in the decisions that impact their children, and they deserve to know that voice is being heard in Washington. I will continue listening to parents, bringing their voices with me to Washington, and ensuring they have a seat at the table.

CTIA's Wireless Policy Forum

I joined leaders from across the wireless and communications industry at CTIA’s Wireless Policy Forum to discuss the policies shaping the future of American connectivity, innovation, and technology.

As a member of the House Energy and Commerce Committee, I have the opportunity to work directly on many of these issues in Congress. From strengthening our communications infrastructure to encouraging innovation and keeping America competitive on the world stage, I’ll keep working to ensure American technology continues to lead the way.

Concerned Women for America DC Summit

It was a pleasure to speak at the Concerned Women for America’s D.C. Summit and hear directly from women across the country about the issues affecting their families and communities.

As Chair of the Republican Women’s Caucus, I’m committed to making sure women have a strong voice in the conversations and decisions taking place in Washington. I’ll continue advocating for women, ensuring their voices are heard, and fighting to deliver results on the issues shaping our country.

The Clay and Buck Show

I joined Clay Travis and Buck Sexton to discuss the AI race with China and why we cannot allow fear to slow American innovation. China benefits when America becomes more hesitant to build and compete, and Congress must distinguish between responsible guardrails and regulations that hold American innovators back.

The Bob Rose Show

I joined the Bob Rose Show to discuss AI leaders asking Congress to regulate the industry. This isn’t about AI moving too fast; it's about Big AI getting ahead of their competition. They want Congress to write rules that smaller companies can’t afford to follow.
