Florida Gateway College Press Conference

I joined Florida Gateway College in Lake City to announce $3 million for workforce training, the largest federal grant in the college’s history!
This funding will help build a new Building Construction Technology Center, including a 4,800-square-foot construction lab, and launch new trade programs for students across our rural communities. These opportunities will help students learn a trade and prepare for good-paying jobs close to home. Team Kat proudly sent a letter of support backing FGC's application.
Thank you to Dr. Barrett, Dr. McIntire, and the entire FGC team for your commitment to our students and North Central Florida’s next generation of builders!
Speer Aviation Site Visit

I visited Speer Aviation in Live Oak to tour the facility and hear directly from owners Stephanie and Chris Speer about the challenges facing their small business and rural aviation.
Our local airports and small businesses keep North Central Florida connected and create opportunities in our rural communities. Hearing firsthand what’s working and what needs to change helps me bring their concerns to Washington and fight for the support they need to thrive.
Thank you to Stephanie, Chris, and the Speer Aviation team for welcoming me and sharing a great day on the runway!
Northeast Florida Economic Development Corporation Annual Clay Shoot and Meeting

It was great to join the Northeast Florida Economic Development Corporation (NEFEDC) in Bradford County to discuss our efforts to strengthen local economies and create new opportunities for our communities.
I shared an update on the $50 million in water infrastructure funding authority we advanced through the House and the $3 million FGC grant. From infrastructure to workforce training, these investments help our communities attract businesses and prepare residents for new jobs.
Thank you to Danny Stefanelli, Amber Shepherd, and the NEFEDC team for your partnership. I’m proud to work alongside you to bring more good-paying jobs to North Central Florida.
Suwannee River Water Management District Roundtable

I sat down with leaders from the Suwannee River Water Management District to hear where they're running into challenges and how Team Kat can help.
Here in North Central Florida, our farmers and families depend on our water, and our rivers and springs are part of what makes this place home. We need to protect those resources while making sure our communities have what they need to grow.
That’s why I worked to secure $50 million in new water infrastructure funding authority for Florida’s Third Congressional District in the House-passed Water Resources Development Act of 2026. I’ll keep fighting to get it across the finish line and help our communities meet their infrastructure needs. |
