Strengthening Economic Development Across North Central Florida

I brought together economic development leaders from 11 counties across Florida's Third District at my Gainesville office to discuss opportunities to strengthen our local economies, attract new businesses, and support continued growth throughout North Central Florida.
Our conversations focused on some of the biggest challenges facing our communities, including recruiting more healthcare providers, improving critical infrastructure, and creating good-paying jobs for Floridians. We also discussed how to cut through bureaucratic red tape and ensure our communities have the resources they need to grow and thrive.
From expanding access to healthcare to creating new economic opportunities, I'm committed to turning these conversations into real results for North Central Florida. More jobs, stronger businesses, and thriving communities mean a stronger future for Florida's Third District!
Turning Alzheimer’s Awareness Into Action

I got to sit down with local members of the Alzheimer’s Association to learn more about brain health and what North Central Florida families are up against when Alzheimer’s hits home.
For too many families, an Alzheimer's diagnosis brings tough questions about care, treatment, and where to turn for help. They deserve answers, resources, and hope for the future.
I’m bringing their voices to Washington, and I’m proud to support the ASAP Act. I’ll keep fighting for stronger Alzheimer’s research, earlier detection, and better access to care while making sure caregivers have the support they need.
Keeping American Manufacturing Strong

I had the opportunity to visit Union LaSteel in Lake Butler, where skilled welders and fabricators have been helping build North Central Florida for 26 years!
Brett Parrish and his team gave me a firsthand look at their welding and trim shops, where I learned more about their operations and heard directly from employees about the challenges facing small manufacturers, including rising costs and workforce shortages.
Skilled trades help fuel our economy, and we need to make sure the next generation of workers has the tools to succeed. That means expanding apprenticeships, strengthening technical education, and creating more pathways to good-paying careers without requiring a four-year college degree.
I'm proud to support the hardworking men and women who keep North Central Florida building, growing, and moving forward! |
