Incredible news: Alwyn Cashe is going to receive the Medal of Honor!

Alwyn Cashe's sacrifice on behalf of his fellow soldiers exemplifies everything the Medal of Honor represents. With this recognition, Alwyn will become the first African-American to receive the Medal of Honor for service in the wars in Iraq or Afghanistan.

Alwyn's family has waited 15 long years for this moment — and I am very proud to have been part of the bipartisan effort in Congress to honor this Florida and American hero.
