It was a very eventful week and I’m excited to tell you about what we accomplished. Here are some highlights:
- I introduced the Bipartisan Nation's Oldest Port National Heritage Area Act with Representatives John Rutherford and Al Lawson at the St. Augustine Lighthouse
- I joined fellow Florida Representative Lois Frankel and four Afghan negotiators to discuss their role at the negotiating table
PRESERVING OUR HERITAGE: The First Coast has such a unique and rich history — and it's on us to ensure landmarks like the St. Augustine Lighthouse can be enjoyed for generations to come. That's why I'm so proud to have joined Reps. Rutherford and Lawson to introduce the Bipartisan Nation's Oldest Port National Heritage Area Act to preserve and protect our area's beautiful treasures.

A SEAT AT THE TABLE: Where women thrive, extremism doesn't. This week Rep. Lois Frankel, members of the Women, Peace, and Security Caucus, and I were joined by four female members of the Afghan government's 21-member team tasked with negotiating with the Taliban to discuss their vital role at the peace table. These women are so brave and determined, representing Afghan women as they fight for the future of their country.
