Listening to Floridians

Dear Friends:

I hope all had a Happy Thanksgiving with family and loved ones.

While Small Business Saturday has past, this holiday season please shop small by visiting small businesses in your area and supporting local entrepreneurs. Small businesses are the backbone of our economy. When we use American labor, American goods, and American grit to build, create and grow more American products we are investing in and celebrating what makes America great!

Calling College Interns

Are you interested in serving others and getting involved in politics? If so, my office is currently accepting resumes for Congressional internships. Intern responsibilities include assisting staff with research and writing, attending briefings, and answering constituent calls. As a result, interns get a firsthand experience at the legislative process and learn the many functions of a congressional office.

For more information on internships and how to apply, please visit https://webster.house.gov/internships.

Passport Processing Update

Is your passport up-to-date? If not, given the increased travel around the holidays, I encourage travelers to delay scheduling plans if possible until receipt of your passport, to or allow six months’ processing time between submission and your travel date. If your travel date is 2-3 weeks away, you may monitor your passport’s status here. If you do not receive your passport once your travel date is within 2-3 weeks, please call my district office. If you do not have a firm date of travel, you may contact my office after your experienced delay is outside of the normal processing window:

  • 8-11 weeks for routine
  • 5-7 weeks for expedited

Passport appointments in Miami will only be requested on behalf of individuals with emergency situations. If you are experiencing an emergency (urgent business travel, funerals, visiting a terminally ill family member, etc.), you may make an appointment by calling 877-487-2778. If you are experiencing an emergency and are unable to obtain an appointment or are requesting a status update for a minor, please contact my office at 352-241-9220.

Visit my Passport Assistance webpage for more information.

Seeing and Serving You

On Tuesday, I joined the Salvation Army in Leesburg to serve breakfast to constituents in District 11. I’m thankful for organizations like the Salvation Army and their work to prioritize our community’s growth and wellbeing.

_______________

Last week, I met with the Leesburg Sunshine Rotary with many other Lake County dignitaries to hear an update from the Lake County Water Authority District #3 board member Tyler Brandeburg. It was great to meet with Rotary President Michael Johnson, past president Bert Boliek, and all the other Rotarians.

Constituent Corner

A constituent from Inverness contacted my office regarding an issue she was experiencing with the Social Security Administration (SSA). She had applied for Medicare Part B coverage during open enrollment and was told her coverage would become effective on July 1st. The constituent reached out to my office in August after not receiving her Medicare card or any information on her coverage. My staff contacted the agency regarding the delay and SSA immediately reviewed her record, issued her a Medicare card and prorated her coverage date back to July 1st.

Constituent services is a critical element of our congressional office. The federal government is a massive operation, and my office is available if you ever need assistance in navigating the bureaucracy or cutting through red tape. We are here to serve you.

Survey

Both President Biden and HHS Secretary Becerra have failed to adequately protect pro-life Americans' conscience rights regarding the funding and completion of abortions. Do you believe the Administration should be doing more to protect religious liberty?
