The Webster Wire
Listening to Floridians
Dear Friends:
Securing our borders is one of my top priorities. Last year, after Republicans gained the majority of the U.S. House, one of our first actions was to pass H.R. 2 a comprehensive border security bill. This bill included two bills that I cosponsored - the Finish the Wall Act and H.R. 2737, the Stop the Invasion Act.
Last week, I visited the Southern Border in Eagle Pass, Texas along with Speaker Mike Johnson and nearly 60 House Republicans. I was able to get a first-hand update on how President Biden’s failed policies have perpetuated the crisis at our southern border. During our visit, we heard from border patrol agents, local landowners, federal, state, and local officials on how President Biden’s open border policies have affected border communities and the operations at the southern border. While the Biden Administration attempts to downplay the extent of this crisis, I witnessed the desperate need for policy change. Following my trip, I am determined as ever to keep pushing the U.S. Senate and White House to embrace policies and legislation that secures our borders and sensibly reforms our immigration laws.

Speaking Out for Our Veterans
I recently wrote Department of Veteran Affairs (VA) Secretary Denis McDonough expressing my deep concern regarding the removal of mileage reimbursement kiosks from VA facilities across the country, which are being replaced by the online Beneficiary Travel Self Service System (BTSSS). I have heard numerous concerns from Veterans that the removal of mileage reimbursement kiosks from VA facilities have created significant barriers for trying to access their hard earned benefits. I remain committed in ensuring that our Veterans receive the support and services they need without unnecessary obstacles. If you or a veteran you know needs assistance with an issue before the VA, please contact my office. We are here to serve you.
Seeing and Serving You
Pam Jones, my Community Relations Representative for West Orange County, attended the Habitat for Humanity Seminole-Apopka Home Dedication for LaTonya Riley and her family. Habitat for Humanity Seminole-Apopka CEO Penny Seater welcomed everyone, and Mayor Jerry Demings presented the keys to LaTonya. LaTonya and her son worked hard alongside volunteers and the Habitat Team to see the house finished. Congratulations to LaTonya Riley and her family!

Cindy Brown, my Community Relations Representative for the City of Wildwood, attended the City’s groundbreaking celebration for their new multi-level parking garage, which will be located in downtown Wildwood. Thank you to all the great partners who will make this project a great success, and will bring more business opportunities to the residents and businesses of the City of Wildwood.
