Dear Neighbor,

Last week, I held a tele-townhall to share an update on the work I am doing in Washington on your behalf.  Over 9,000 constituents participated in this call.  I appreciated the opportunity to hear directly from those I serve about their priorities and desire to see us restore an America First agenda.  Thank you to everyone who took the time to participate.  Please continue reading to learn more about my efforts last week.

Fighting for Our Nation’s Heroes:  Last week, I proudly reintroduced the Major Richard Star Act which would rectify the injustice of concurrent receipt for more than 50,000 medically retired combat Veterans. It has widespread bipartisan support and we will not rest until it is signed into law.

Protecting Consumers:  Last year, Americans lost $12.9 billion to scams.  Visit the FTC website to learn more about how to protect yourself.

Restoring Fiscal Sanity:  Thanks to President Trump, inflation is already on its way down, with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) dropping to its lowest level in four years last week.  There is more work to do, and our reconciliation package will help build on this momentum by lowering costs and preventing a massive tax hike.

Supporting the Arts:  My office is now accepting submissions from students for this year’s Congressional Art Competition.  All local high school students are welcome to apply.

Community Connection

I am fortunate to have a team of dedicated staff who regularly attend events throughout our community, especially when I am required to be in Washington, DC. Through their collective efforts, I am better able to stay connected to the issues that matter most to my constituents. As part of my commitment to developing a better understanding of the issues facing constituents in Citrus, Hernando and Pasco counties, members of my team attended several events last week. Here are a few highlights.

My team attended the East Pasco Chamber of Commerce monthly breakfast to learn more about the issues plaguing local businesses.

My team was also proud to attend the Gold Star Families Proclamation by the Hernando Chamber of Commerce.  It is so important that we never forget these heroes and their families.

Additionally, my team listened to Sheriff David Vincent give an update to the Citrus County Chamber of Commerce at this month's meeting.

Constituent Corner

My team recently received this message after helping resolve a problem our constituent was having with the VA.

Thank you so much for all that you do.  Just wanted to let you know that I have not received a letter as of yet, however, a deposit was made to my account today from the VA .  So I’m assuming my claim has been completed and will receive details within a few days.  My heartfelt appreciation to you and your staff for your continued dedication and support to our veterans and their families. I am very grateful and honored to stand with you and President Trump.

This  is just one example of the work we do each day. Constituent services are a critical element of our congressional office. The federal government is a massive operation, and my office is available if you ever need assistance in navigating the bureaucracy or cutting through red tape. We are here to serve you!

Sincerely,
